I went to Werner on walmart dedicated pulling reefer right out of school.

Swift Transportation has a reefer division.
C.R. England is all reefer.
Stevens Transport is all reefer.
Werner has a reefer division.
Trans Am.
I believe Prime Inc. has reefers.
Central Refrigerated.
JBS Carriers hires new grads, I think.
Pride Transport.
I'm sure there are more I haven't been able to think of. Never took much of an interest in reefers (or any other sort of box). -
There are actually quite a few out there. I can personally recommend Central only because out of your choices up there that is the only one I have driven for.
Make a list of your wants and needs and start pounding the internet. Once you have narrowed it down to a couple dozen or so then start calling recruiters to get the inside info. Good to have a prepared list of questions for them.
Reefer is a really good choice though to get into from the get go! You get twice as many freight options because you can haul anything refrigerated and anything a dry van hauls too! Reefer also pays more than Dry van. These days reefers are really easy to run and take care of themselves for the most part. You just turn it on and keep fuel in it!
Good luck man! -
Reefer looks to pay more and I don't have to worry about Hazmat right off the bat. Also looking at no touch to help keep my body somewhat safer...LOL -
If you run reefer you will most likely never touch your load. Reefer loads are palletized so you will not be building tiers or stacking plywood etc... Also your chances of a furniture load are null. There maybe some breaking down of pallets and product occasionally but that is what lumpers are for. Central is one of those companies who really don't want their drivers touching anything.
Illinois is a really good place to live to be a trucker. Its smack dab in the middle of all the trucking lanes and you will cross through there quite frequently making home time or at least getting by the house more often a little better. Central has a drop yard up there. Its not a terminal though. Their main terminals are Salt Lake (main terminal), Conley, Ga (Atlanta), Fontana, Ca (western outskirts of LA) and Henderson, Co (West Denver) I believe they also have one in Texas too. They also have many drop yards scattered about the country.
They do have a rider program so your wife will be able to ride with you, however, I highly recommend you getting her license and you guys will make really, really good money! Might take some convincing though! Here is a site that may also help find some of those companies that don't advertise as much:

Good luck man.... -
KLLM has a yard in portage indiana. Great dispatchers there. They answer the phone with a smile every time. They run regional out of there. 39 cents a mile but regional has shorter runs...
