Was looking at Prime, but I've read a lot about them running heavy in the northeast. I want a company with freight that will take me over as much of the 48 as possible.

It has been a very long time since I was a newbie, and the companies I have worked for, are out of business now. But "back in my day", all I had to do was ask, and I got to go everywhere.
Just do not start complaining when you do go 48 (and maybe Canada), and you do not get home.sharp.dressed.man and Red Hot Mess Thank this. -
In my first year with Watkins I touched every [continental] state except, MA, RI, CT and VT....

My first couple of years with Swift when I started out put me into every state including Maine and Florida. Just about every large company will do this if you make it known that you want to do it. It was not unusual for me to pick-up a load then tell my dispatcher that I wanted my next load to go way into the northwest or something and have him put me on one. If you want to run most will do it for you. Good Luck

As a new driver, I just wanted to run regional........but I chose a national company, based on the oposite coast, and guess what ?.....I was anything but a regional driver. Most companies have what they call a 48 states or make you a "system driver". They will love you!sharp.dressed.man Thanks this. -
