Like 48 Packard i hate that stretch of 95 but i live just outside of Boston and have to run that to get home or go to work. I hate Maryland and if i am going south i go 95-287-78-to 81 and 81 south is a good ride and you don't get the hassle of N J Md. and North Va. going 81 saves a hell of a lot of tolls also.

The reason I put Iowa and Nebraska, is they are just plain boring and you could doze off in the middle of the day on I80.

Well I wasn't whining about WV, the hills there are worse than Ohio. Actually I've ran OH 7 and WV 2 quite a few times between Parkersburg and Wheeling. Decent roads, you won't be flying at 70 MPH but better than most of the other roads in SE Ohio.

I am simply saying that the 2 lanes in Ohio and Indiana are garbage, the county roads where I live are built better. There is some of the worst Karst Topography in the world where I live, and lo and behold, very few switchbacks or Ohio-like roads. Even when you get to the western part of Ohio the 2 lane roads are crap. In ohio, Every time there's a town with as small as 1000 people, you can expect all kinds of 90 degree turns, way too many stop signs and stop lights and skinny streets making a 60 mile trip take almost 2 hours.

Most of Cali I don't mind, except for two certain areas at two specific times.

I absolutely HATE driving east over the Donner Pass towards Reno on a Friday afternoon, because the traffic is horrible, the road is exceptionally rough, and the truck is usually loaded to the gills! It's a long, slow, rough ride to Reno.

The other route I hate is I-15 from Las Vegas back to Los Angeles on a Sunday. Nuthin' but PO'd people who've lost a ####load of $$ in Vegas. Invariably someone will break down on the way back home (usually somewhere around Baker), and the traffic slows to a crawl.

I've come to the conclusion that if Arnold would charge a mere $1 per car at the fruit stands, that California would balance it's budget in less than two years!

Because..its not a TOLL ROAD, thats why. They want you to pay the toll. If nobody uses the toll road the toll road is pointless.

So if this TOLL ROAD is owned by private investors, mainteainance paid for by private investors, what does Ohio care if people run it or not?

There would still be gobs and gobs of truck traffic on the Pike, its not like people are going to Run US 20 to Erie and New York. US 35 Runs from Dayton to SE Ohio (near Parkersburg, WV). 90% of US 35 is now 4 lanes. Why would anyone run the TOLL ROAD 100 miles out of route from Dayton to Parkersburg, WV? In a car or big truck??

It's all about greed and corruption. it has nothing to do with a toll road. there is no excuse for 55MPH on a rural, deserted 4-lane road.

I hate Miami FL with a passion. I do not mind LA surprisingly. Yes it is stop and go but man funny stuff goes on. The NE aint so bad at all. Houston would be my second worse.

I ran across 84 from the Mass Pike all the way to Scranton this afternoon...that always seems like a longer run than it actually is.

Taxes from the income the toll road makes!

I also made a trip to KY this week. WOW! I71 sucks down thru there and I64 in southern IN isn't much better except where they paved.
