If you had a choice to pull one of the following trailers which would you choose. Why would you choose it over the others?
48x102 flat with a spread
48x102 step with a spread sliding or fixed
53x102 step with a spread sliding or fixed
Thanks for the input
Which trailer would you choose

53" step with a tridem because I'm big on doing anything and being able to go anywhere.
NWMAXI Thanks this. -
48x102 flat with a spread. kinda the best middle ground choice for me. with a step, I cannot get the rear dock load/unload freight, but can with the flat. step, you can get machinery & other taller loads, but that a lot of times take 1/2 a day to get loaded. I cannot think of a area that would demand a 53 ft, that a 48 ft would not suffice.
Travelinman Thanks this. -
i'd get something like this.

Just not a 2003 transcraft. Keep hearing ugly reports that the 2002 and 2003 models had issues with frame cracks. -
All transcraft get frame cracks.

They dont call them Transcracks for nothing.

53 step with tri axles and cali leagal with all 3 down. I prefer steps just because more machinery loads which tend to pay better.

Being in southern GA, you might want to look more at a stepdeck. I'd look more into a 51' step with a sliding spread. That way you get a 10' upper and a 41' lower with can locks. Being by Savanah and Garden City you can also haul those big crates from the ports.
If not, then 48' flat is the most versatile. You can always find a flatbed load -
Thanks for all the inputs. It seems that I will be able to do good with which ever one I can get. I do like the 51 step option. Not sure if that type will be avaliable to me though.

I can tell you this Had a 48 step with 22.5 tires for a long time the revenue is good especialy with a ramp kit. Ive recently started pulling a lowpro 52 step with ramps and twist locks, I do believe im going to take my ramps off, the extra height i can carry and the lower deck being 41 i get more high dollar over sized and military cont. my revenue has increased greatly. i wont go back to a 48 footer.
