Which truck for my custom straight truck + trailer (not for hire)

    If he gets the M2 shouldn't he register it as an RV vs. CMV?
    He travels with his family and takes his camera equipment with him.
    If he registers it as a CMV won't he need an ELD and go by those rules?

    Yeah not to nitpick here but being a 2007 means it was a 3500, not a 4500/5500. They didn't come out till 2008..

    3500 2wd C&C could be had with the same independent front suspension set up as the 2500/3500 pickups. Thought it was recirculating ball,? could be rack & pinion steering, I don't know..

    He needs DOT numbers, no log I dont believe because its not a transport operation.

    Nope, he is a commercial venture, so the entire package is needed, from numbers to logging.
