Just based on that info I'd probably go with the Walmart truck. Are you certain you can't find a better deal than $65k for a cascadia with around 400k miles though?

Edit: also, if you do buy one of these make sure you've got the extra money to replace that one box when it eventually comes up.

When you spend over $200 on something with self propulsion, you really should drive (it if it is intended to be driven in this case) and get dirty and get under it and get under the hood. Drive it up to 70 on the freeway, Don't tool around the lot then call the bank. That's not going to work! Just looking at it and asking questions isn't enough when you are spending money. That isn't something you can undo if you miss something. Wear old clothes and bring gloves and a good flashlight. Give it a thorough inspection. If you aren't up to it, pay a good mechanic. $200 would be fair for a good inspection but worth the money if you think you're about to sign up for it. Just my experience. I inspect everything I buy thoroughly, even old parts trucks. I want to get to know it as best I can. I ask the guy to be honest, I don't mind fixing things but I want to know up front so I can fix everything before I get it on the road. If someone tells me 6 things are broken, I won't cuss him out. I thank him for being honest. I just want to know. I can't stand finding and fixing one thing each month.

It does seem like a hard sell to pay anything for a used 400k emissions truck that's had too many hands on the steering wheel. Maybe if it was my hands from day one, the bank just sent the title or will soon, and it had been a good rig up till then, it would be worth weathering some downtime and repair bills messing with the fiddly bits and wore out thingamabobs. Inheriting a pandora's box like that second hand as a small time operator just seems like a recipe for a sad story. New-new with a warranty or an old paid for sled that's fully depreciated but been kept up with seem like the only two rational choices of poison worth choosing between, and anything in between is no-man's land.
