Which trucking companies do not require you to get a twic card?

Getting a TWIC is no big deal. You can apply on line. Takes a couple week before you go pick it up, when you renew your license, you renew the TWIC at the same time. They need your birth record and your ssn, O'h and a back ground check.

You may not use it much but it's good to have.

 

It's not required at Maverick if you're in the temp control division. I believe they do require it for flatbed and glass though.

We don't do any type of hazmat at all either.

 

Hauling hazmat is really no big deal. Just know and follow the rules. The key is training so you know the rules. I argue with Ohio DMV every time I re-new my haz mat because I always seem to get a question that has TWO correct answers but they are only looking for a specific answer. I've showed the examiner the TWO correct answers in the regs and they tell me to take it up with Columbus, I have to no avail. I still choose the correct answer they do not want just to argue with them sacrificing a perfect score on the test ;o) Not having your haz mat will limit your employment opportunities but it will not keep you from getting a job, there are companies that do not require it.
