That is the attitude at A LOT of the smaller 1 or 2 location stops. A lot of my favorite places don't have more than 1 or 2 pumps with satellites, no showers, but they give free coffee and treat drivers with respect (which goes a LONG way in my book). I'm in a day cab, so showers aren't an issue since I'm either home at night or I pay for a motel room. Trucks are for working. When it comes time to rest, I want to be comfortable...and I just can't be comfortable cooped up in a box. Heck, I sleep better on a blanket under a shade tree with my wrist slipped through my dog's leash than I do in a truck sleeper. An 85 pound dog is intimidating enough to a lot of people that they won't attempt to approach me as I sleep...and if they DO, he lets me know....usually when I feel the tug on my arm and hear him start growling, barking, and carrying on like he wants to tear someone limb from limb.![]()
