Yeah. It's not like was speeding through a residential area, violating noise ordinances, or ignoring a low tonnage road weight limit. And that's before we even get to his driving.
Which turbos are the ones that spool really loud?

Here they a got a special valve to swicht between normal exhoust and the straight pipes. Maybe is that a idea for not waking up a hole village.
-
I don't run straights but do run high flow donaldsons and tone is mellow and much more pleasing than the straights. The turbo in my MBN C-15 is quite loud and does get annoying at some times.
-
Any truck with dual external air cleaners will whistle loud. My Acert is quieter than the single turbo 6nz's we have. On a long hard pull you can't stand to drive with the windows down, the turbo whistle will give you a headache. This is all intake whistle, not the annoying straight pipes. Straight pipes are great........for about 5min then those guys should grow up and put the mufflers back on.

I don't think I've heard an Acert with straights, or if I have I didn't know it. I know when I put twin chargers on my pickup it quieted it down considerably even with a muffler. -
truck was not all that loud was driveing alittle fast but was bobtail so was not over weight
-
I run straights on mine because I like the look of them better but I also took OEM muffler and cut the center out and welded the ends together making a short muffler and it fits nice right behind the right side step box. Before I did that the Acert wasn't that loud but the jake was OH MY GOD TURN THAT OFF loud.
Its not that he was on a back road that I have a problem with, hell I live on a road much like that and I bring my truck and trailer home, I'm not letting my stuff set in town for some crack head to steal everything. Its was the driving style that sucks. Way to fast then using the jake coming up to the stop sign, change gears using the jake, spooling the turbo up then off the gas only to hear the whoosh of air coming back thru the air cleaners.
He needs a Dodge pickup with a Cummins if he want to drive like that. -
If I remember correctly, that sign said something like a five ton weight limit. So, yes, he was in excess of that road's weight limit. The pipes were loud... if they weren't all that loud, certainly blowing his air horn was.
It's not just about him driving "a little fast" - there was all sorts of general #######ery in this video, and this is the sort of thing which causes new legislation to be passed to make life harder for the rest of us. -
I think you guys are being way to judgmental with this poor guy who was obviously just show off for the camara. I really don't think he bothered anyone on those empty back roads. Besides it's his truck to run into To the ground. If he ##### where he eats that his problem. Sounds good to me.

I've got a muffler on my truck and its still loud. I got rid of the 2 mufflers and put 6" pipes on. I tried it for a week without the muffler......
. Yeah that was killer loud! With the bigger pipes the sound is deeper. With the dual mufflers it was more of a high pitch and hard to sleep with the rumble of the muffler.
I've got a Borg Warner turbo on my Cat and its naturally loud, mufflers or not.
If he lives on that road he may be exempt. -
I agree....What an idiot!
