In that case, Van probably works out. Unfottunately, in general it's also the lowest paying work, since there are som many other vans out there competing for the work. The ratio of money to complexity/effort tends to make the easist work the least lucrative.

Yeah probably van. The others you mentioned can have some work involved with them.
For example, currently I haul crude. That isn't so bad except part of the job is to climb a 20' tank and gauge the tank with a tape measure. Bad knees aren't going to like that too much.
If you can find a flatbed company that pulls curtain side trailers you might enjoy that. There will be some work involved with tying down and rolling the tarp system forward or back, but nothing like full bore flatbedding would be. -
What is wrong with your knee? I am missing ACLs in both knees, but arthritis has made them stable again, I can climb and do. I hauled hot asphalt cement(AC) for three weeks, had to climb and hang onto things and did all of that without any problem. I used to run a dairy farm and climbed in and out of silos and bins.
Van can be easy until you get heavy loads and have to slide tandems, or have to secure loads with lumber and nails.I did peddles from vans as well and then you have to unload with a pallet jack to the back of the trailer or sometimes onto a dock.
Tanker was probably the easiest for me overall.
