My husband was a disenfranchised worker after being laid off. The state of TN paid for his schooling through a technical college.
I eventually enrolled and was able to get some financial help. I paid $350 plus I had to pay for my physical.
We drove for the company that sponsored the program even though we weren’t obligated to do so. It was local and good to get the experience.
I would not have signed a two year contract. I’d be reluctant with a one year contract. Just know if you leave before it’s up you WILL have to pay it off.

Wow. Thank you @TravR1 so much for the time you to to explain this.
Thank you.
Gamgee ~ thinking about all this -
Now. If I am wrong or incorrect in that. You can be brash with me.
Thank you.

I am scared now.
Got to the part. When Sam says, "That fellow has been doing nothing but stare at me since we arrived."
Is it really like that out there? On the Journey?
Yeah. Maybe I should never leave home.
But.
I have traveled far already and
God has been good to put the people and support in my path that I needed
When I needed it.
Wish I truly had a Frodo though as I am sure if there is a Frodo out there alone wished he had a Sam.
Thanks Traveler @TripleSix ,
Gamgee ~
P.S. Are you an Orc? Or possibly a Cyberman from Doctor Who?~ Scary Avatar and epithet beneath. "God of the Roads" You're not Sauron are you?! :O

The truck driving school quoted me all sorts of different payment options and a tuition $2,000 less than the carrier pushed at me in their contract which THEY claimed was NOT with financing of a percentage rate.
Both the carrier - Swift BTW and The truck Driving School - 160 Trucking BTW - had told me over the phone that I could Pay In Full on my own and still be in the Swift Academy. - Which I did want. Because I was looking forward to driving those 200-300 hours with a Swift Trainer alongside of me. I would have worked for Swift thankfully and humbly - for the rest of my life.
Yes. There were a lot of promises made by Swift recruitment over the phone which didn't pan out.
The driving Academy seemed to be playing along with Swift. They waited until 1 hour before their offices closed Friday to start barraging me with all of the Swift Contract Paperwork and their very own DOT Medical Exam that they wanted me to get even though I already have a DOT Card good for 2 Years.
They rushed me just like CRE. And. -The driving school? Although there was this one honest person named Nichole who told me the 160's actual tuition and all the other various ways of payment, It was a 160 Person who pushed those Swift Contracts at me at the End of The Day Friday.
Swift even wanted me to take an English Proficiency Test! - I sent emails to Swift telling them that I am well educated in the English language thank you, and understand what is in their contract clearly.
Yes @TripleSix, I wanted The education and Career Journey ahead.
It was going to be The Map for my Future.
I apologize everyone. I am just really disappointed right now and. Yes. It's not just this. This was just the final road sign that, I am destined for continuous bumps and potholes.
I thought God made a WAY through the mountains. Moved the mountains when you prayed with faith in Jesus.
Isaiah 49: 10-11 10.They will not hunger or thirst, nor will the scorching heat or sun beat down on them. For He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water. 11. I will turn all My mountains into roads, and My highways will be raised up.
Isaiah 42:16 I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light before them and rough places into level ground. These things I will do for them, and I will not forsake them.
Luke 3:5 Every valley shall be filled in, and every mountain and hill made low. The crooked ways shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth.
Isaiah 40…
The Lord and LORD Our God's promises are found everywhere in The Bible and well. I know it is not about how strong a man is. I know it is about the simple faith of a child. That faith, be it ever so small as a mustard seed is all we need. He is the one that will water, nourish and provide for that seed. I have asked for an increase in faith.
I am sorry for running on so and I am not a preacher or Bible thumper.
I guess I am just saying that yes. I was looking for a Fellowship in the community of Truckers because they know what it is like to be on a pilgrimage or Journey. They know the Story of "The Good Samaritan" and it's value.
Before cell phones we had CBs but ultimately we had faith.
GamgeeTruckermania Thanks this. -
@otterinthewater got his cdl on his own, and went to run for Western Express. They put him with trainer for a minute I believe, and then he was off in his own truck, makin some $. Now he's moved on with a MUCH better set up. All within a year.
Swift is bottom of the barrel. They want the dumbest of the dumb to brainwash. Dont be that person.
