Sorry. I’m short on time and skipped most of the post.

Yes I got my CDL via taking the test and renting a truck and going to the DMV.

    1. Self finance
    2. I did a year and one day at Western Express which many seemed to think was impossible. It’s not. Manage your expectations
    3. Some may think using the word “allegorical” would be an issue on trucking site. It’s not. Many of the drivers responding are smart as heck and have decades + of experience. Listen to them.

Be well and best of luck.

Enter through the narrow gate, for broad is the gate and wide is the roadway leading to destruction (the path of least resistance).

Just because the mountain gets moved doesn’t mean that the path will ever become a cake walk. The path will always be narrowed and tight.

Thank you @HillbillyDeluxeTruck This is so ironic since I and others here have shared our special relationship with our dogs. "Dog eat Dog" ~ That is a really bad analogy but I use it all the time to.

If only we were as loyal as dogs. Mine is so smart, she looks me in the face and says in doggie to man communication that can only be described in our language as "telepathy" but I think is goes far deeper within the very instincts of a dog. ~ Anyway, mine looks me in the eyes and says, "How ya do in'?" And she means it to!

I don't think I could ever be in to butt sniffin' :p but there must be a purpose in that to, for a dog. Probably can tell a lot about a person or a company that way.

Yeah. Swift. CRE. I done know but, something doesn't smell right.

I am gonna miss meeting ya all on the road. I'm a people person and I hope that where ever I go, I walk the correct path and although I will be met with those that would better fit the category of wolf than dog, I hope that man is never on my menu as I would not wish to be on his. If I am on the menu. I hope I leave a very bad taste in the mouth and a pain in the gut.

Do not expect any recruiter to be very truthful, that way you will not be disappointed to much when you find out they lied to you.

    Thank you.

Much Respect for your efforts. I do respect greatly all the feedback and time I have been given here by people who have traveled long and far. It takes great fortitude, focus, and faith. I have nothing but respect and awe for those in this business. It is one of the last great American Industries. When you spend a lot of time alone with nothing but your thoughts and sometimes God when ya know you need help and wanna get home, well. There is a reason why travelers at the rest areas take time to ask, "Where you been?" "Where you Going?" And. To say. "God be with you and Safe Journeys."

    Safe Journeys @otterinthewater,

Btw, when I went to trucking school, I had gotten my medical card first,. They also wanted me to get one thru their provider. That's because there are a lot of fly by night places that just sign the paperwork and dont care. Do some more research about companies to work for. Covenant has a fairly long training program, with a finishing week where they test your skills to make sure you learned what you need. They're a team company, but I really like working for them. Chinatown can help with companies too. Are there more schools in your area? It doesn't seem like this one is telling you about the govt grant program.

Fair enough. Point taken but. Disappointing none the less to this pilgrim.

Some how, I always tell myself, no matter how many times I am misled or my trust sold out,
    * maybe the next one. * * Believe * *Don't give up on man*

Gamgee I dont know where you are located but you would be better off paying for school yourself. You might give Tyson foods a call. They treat their new drivers good. You are with a trainer for 6 weeks. Tyson will keep you running. Dont do much west coast runs anymore. Last time i talked to a recruiter about it they said they reimburse you for school up to $3000. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Well. Here's an update.
The first recruiter I talked to from CRE who was so rude and pushy, I said, "no thank you." - He had a friend recruiter call me and leave me a message in my voice mail saying, in very bad English, "Hguh lo dis is' Moses, Ihyum Ahuhgucghallinguh on behalf ohghf my frien' Victor an'hugund we've aughhav; Made a complaint aughainst you for youra Bughinguh RRrrrude to Victor aghnd we would like Mor' information Furum yu so We' Can Muake improvements next tim'.

He said *I* was rude to the CRE Recruiter???

Well. I kept that recording in my voice mail and may forward it to the Driver's Advocate at CRE because...

Mr Victor then called me back 4 days later and started out all peachy as peachy as a pit with no manners can get. Until I tried to inject a word here or there into the conversation. - Asking questions again. That's when he said, "Here. Write this DOWN." "Do you have a college education?!" "I mean, what's WRONG with you?" etc etc etc." It went on and on and, because I was still not interested in signing on with CRE. He then said, "WHgh' ELL I am just calling to TELL you that we are not going further because YOU are DISQUALIFIED." "Because YOU had a WASHINGTON State license and that is the ONLY state where YOU would have to authorize a background check."

    I hung up on him.

I do not know if this adequately describes the experience that I had with this CRE England recruiter. You would have to follow my other posts about it. Basically. He was rude from the get go. He kept putting me down to the point of harassment for asking ANY questions pertinent to the CRE school and the tuition repayment plan, and or the wages. He just kept telling me, "NO I can NOT send you any email in regard to this." "My boss won't let me." "Take my word for it." "What is WRONG with you." You are insulting me" and, "I am not talking to you any more."

My Washington State license is totally clean and if they wanted it. - They should have asked for a release from me at the start. But. - To throw that at me after I had already informed CRE Corp that I was no longer interested in working with them due to their recruiter's rudeness and outright harassment???

I made a formal complaint after Mr. Victor called me yesterday. I felt I had to. He kept telling me, "These lines are recorded so WHY would I LIE to you?" "I have to tell you the truth." "You should just take my word for it." "Aren't you writing this down." "WHy don't you remember things?"

Well. Since Mr Victor said that CRE record's all his phone calls, when I reported him I asked them to investigate his treatment of prospective students and drivers and please review and monitor his phone calls because this should never happen again to another applicant. Male or female.

ok. That was a mouth full. But I feel it needed to be said and I hope you direct anyone, especially women to this post and others of mine if they are considering signing with CRE.

Tell them I said DON'T. Do not even talk to them. If that is how they treat you just at the recruitment, when you are asking questions, tell them to consider how they would be treated once a year contract with them was signed.

Oh and, Another thing Mr. Vic TOR said, He said, "We are not even really interested in drivers driving with us past 1 year." I think that was a slip. Can someone maybe explain why that would be so?

Disposable. You are disposable work horses. That's what I think. And. I wouldn't trust a THING these people say about not owning them anything for tuition. He kept SAYING that. When I asked what the tuition repayment was. How much was deducted from your check. He kept saying. "Lady. I hehm Tell ing yu." "Wher do you ghet dease things?" "I ahem tell ING you that we done wan ur muney." "You will owe us nu thin' for the tuition."

Thanks @keebler13579 for your advice. It is very much appreciated.

Honestly that recruiter with CRE, if his purpose was to harass and demean me to the point of giving up on my endeavors to drive for anyone else. By sheer intimidation and, an experience so bad that I would fear trying anymore as this is how I would be treated everywhere. Well. I hate to admit it. I think he succeeded.:(

Gamgee ~ disillusioned about an industry that I had such admiration for.:(
