I am new here, so quick introduction:
    Name is KG
    I am a carhauler
2001 Sterling with ISM350 , 10sp Rockwell this is most reecent addition. Issue I have with it, and like you to chip in, is - WHITE SMOKE out of exaust. Mechanic called me and said "white smoke comes out of exzaust" . I did not see a problem with that 'cause it is NOT loosing coolant.
Mechanic sais oil gets into turbo. SHOULDN'T SMOKE BE BLACK in that case?
Wondering if he ( mechanic) trying to screw me.

Truck is in San Diego, CA. ~800k miles on a clock.

White smoke can be several things. Coolant is a possibilty. Unburnt fuel is the most common cause along with a turbo pushing oil out of the turbine side.

Black smoke will be partially unburnt fuel.

Unless you have modified the engine it should not smoke hardly at all. A 350 will get just a puff of black on a hard upshift and should run clean under load. You shouldn't ever get any white smoke unless it's a cold start in pretty cool weather and that should clear up within a few minuets.

When does it smoke white? All the time, at startup, under load, etc.?
