That sucks for me. I stay there about once a week, and often stop there about once a week to take a quick nap in the middle of the day. Might stay there tonight on my way to Roanoke and may stop there for a nap tomorrow if I don't feel like running all the way to the rest stop in Harrisonburg.
Have to say that I really like that restaurant. As a rule, I am scared of truckstop buffets but I will eat the one they have there. Always good and clean. Nothing against an Iron Skillet, but this is one that I don't want to switch over.

There's a person that works at the fueling desk that is avery friendly woman and very good. I hope that all of youkeep your jobs after the change. -

There will absolutely be NO personel changes at Whites. Thank you for your concern over our employees. We really have a great group of people who work there, and we remain extremely proud of all of them. Once again it will remain Independently ran and operated by the same family. Which we hope will keep it unique. If it is "Berky's" food your craving, Lee Hi will always be just 10 miles up the road. Thanks again for everyone's feedback.

To me the writing is already on the wall that Lee Hi will suffer this same fate sometime in the not to distant future if it goes over well financially at White's. Another couple of years and there just won't be any non corporate truck stop food joints left.

I am just curious, and feel free to tell me it is none of my business there would be no hard feelings, is it to get the Petro diesel business?
A little fuel/ truck stop by me is considering it just to try and get on some" approved" fueling lists. -
I have not been down that way for quite a few years. I am sad to hear it go. As a small boy me and my dad would stop in for lunch durring road trips. I have vivid memories still of the bikes out front, espesially that old vincent. sweet bike. and the large gun collection mounted on the walls and the animall heads. it was a very long time ago. but i can still seeit in my mind.
the food was good and everyone was nice. whites was the first truck stop I ever went to. Now that I am considering this as a new carreer, i was hopeing to see it all again( this time in my own truck) but alas time and things change. i wish them and all the employees well.
but those childhood memories will have to suffice. it is sad to see those places from our youth dissapear.
se la vie, se la merde
(cuch is life, such is sh#$ ) lol -
They had better keep the chicken biscuits. Those things are awesome.

Haven't been in there for years but I remember the awesome gun collection. And I have to disagree with almost everybody here, I didn't think the food was anything special.

I've been ging to Whites now for about ayear now.I was thefirst one from my company to use Whites. There are some very nice people working there. In the resturaunt they've hired a couple new college girls and they are fantastic an cute too.
I hope the menu doesn't change too much, but Iron Skillett isn't such a bad switch either.
