Peterbilt hands down. Single turbo cat giddyup and go. Twin turbos accepted as well. Wanna feel special? Get a 3408 Cat. All other answers are wrong.

The KW T680 with Cummins we drove was a pos. The Crapcadias with DD15/DT12 combo we drove never broke down.

The Freightliner Cascadias at my company have been way more reliable than the KW T680s and Volvo 780s. The KW has the most comfort and quietest engine, but the cheap plasticy Cascadia just keeps running. The Cascadia im in has only ever had one emissions related issue in 400K and I idle A LOT, up around 50% last time I dared to look. The check engine light came on after a regen. Truck still ran fine, but the shop did a forced regen and all was good. It also has the best automatic trans, better than the KW and Volvos I've driven.

If I had to buy a new truck with my own money, it would be a Cascadia. As much as I hate the interior, it's the one I think would make me the most money.

Marmon hands down but no longer made. But anything pre 98 seems better to me. I've driven DEF trucks since 2012 and have had no problems related to DEF. I've had exactly 1 parked regen and that was after over 24 hours of idling in near zero F temps.

I think u got a good one! DPF and DEF have been an issue in both my Ford 6.7L...and it's a nightmare in the Fire service...too many cold short runs and always need Regen.... And read articles on trucks dropping out of pump gear to Regen at fires... Or going into limp mode at bad times/ meaning shop visit or tow to get it back in service. But until the Fire DEPT exemption kicks in, and commercial trucks are stuck with it

I have too since 2012. The Volvo I drove it rarely idled and it didn’t have any issues except cleaning the doser injector, new nox sensors and two filter cleanings. It occasionally popped the def tank pressure fault but I ignored it, it would go away. The 2015 Cascadia I got in with 373k miles in August has been to the shop 4 times and is coming up on number five for emissions issues. This time I think it’s a clogged delta p sensor, but as long as I am saving the environment it doesn’t bother me. Besides, switching trucks a lot is awesome in itself.

Each to his own but I really like the looks of the International Lonestar. I've never driven one but do like the looks of them.
