    Hi,

Does anyone know which company delivers for places like Burger King and Mcdonald's (I know SYGMA does Wendy's) in the northeast? I'm specifically from NYC and interested in the surrounding areas.

    Thanks

Metroplex runs the city out of Harriman, NY, # Martin Brower runs out of Enfield,CT. Someone has the distribution ctr out on the island around Farmingdale, just don't remember who it is off the top of my head.

They do pay well. I worked for them for a short time around 8-9 years ago and starting pay then was $16 per hour. You will earn that money as the driver unloads everything and some of those things are heavy. I had to quit because my back couldn't take it.

I'll 2nd this, first trucking company I drove for was a McD's distributor here in Colo. They paid hourly to start, then after 90 days it was a piece count pay. So much for each bag of lettuce, each carton of eggs, each box of fries, burgers, etc. One thing is for certain, you will learn to hate the food at these places. Some of the #### I saw that went on in the backroom, coolers, etc., was enough to make me swear of fast food for awhile, even with getting free food at the customers.

Maines runs Burger King and a number of other chains as well as many mom&pop places. Bit of a hike from NYC in Binghamton, all slip seat Penske trucks, lots of lumping and tight places. Oh, and electronic logs (Xata box).

Do not move to work there, its not worth it and in their slow season (now) they'll starve you out. My friend works there, went thru their in house cdl training and is now committed for 2 years, but isn't making much over $300-$400/wk. Bad deal when you have 4 kids at home.
