Who has completed a lease purchase and fully owns truck with title?

Hi! Do you know how their intermodal division is? I was contacted by them for a lease purchase ($288/week for 2-1/2 years). I was about to drive another guy's truck to save up some money to get my own truck. It seems like a godsend, so to speak, since I was already looking to purchase a truck. Do their lease purchase trucks come governed or with qualcomm? The payment would be either $425 or $475 per week after 10 weeks. How does their maintenance escrow work? Never heard of it. What does it cover? Any info that you could provide is greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the information. I was previously looking at l/p and something smelled fishy so I came here to read. Tons of great information from both sides. While I currently have no money to put toward a truck...I have worked 3 years owning my own business to better myself in this area. Unfortunately the market is worse and worse lately which is causing me to change to trucking. I think my best move will be a company man for a year or so and get some savings, then purchase my own and find my loads. Again, great info.

 

Rare we may be but ya I handed them a check and got handed the title... would I lease again? Not just no but HELL NO!! Pm me if want more details.....

I completed two full lease's thru ATS. Granted I hauled specialized so the money was better, and this was before the son took over. But like any other business you have to be prepared for the down falls. I had plenty of years on the road and had ran a unit for two different O/O's so that gave me a pretty stable background on what to exoect. It can be done but you really have to do your homework on the company you are dealing with, so much of what they do effects you!

 

I've just paid of my truck at Henderson trucking an 09 freightliner cascadia but I wouldn't recommend coming over here though

My lease finished in June of 2012. I eventually elected to purchase the truck from them and the note will be paid off in January.
