CRST? CR England?
Go ahead and sell your soul if you decide to go work for them. Dude, please respect the opinions of those who have posted here and have told you NOT to work for them. There are many who have disregarded their advice then came back weeping and wailing to tell how they were treated. And you'd see that we fired right back with the famous "I told you so" but you didn't want to listen. You made your own bed; now you have to lie in it.
There are MUCH better companies out there than these bottom dwelling scum suckers. I know that others tend to rail on Swift but when I came out of a private school in the early 90s, they assigned me a trainer for 6 weeks. It could have been better but I learned a few things.
Schneider? Maybe but be prepared for a fast schooling...if you make it. They can tell in a few days if you're going to make it or not. If they think you won't, you're gone.
Roehl? I'd give them a serious look. Would I drive for them? Maybe if it was to my advantage.
But before you make a mistake that you WILL regret if you decide to go with either of these bottom feeders of CRST and England, you have a TON of reading to do. Spend time reading through this site and make sure you especially look at those with experience and what they have to say. Look at those who went with a company and how they were treated. That can speak volumes.
And after it's all said and done, if you decide to go with CRST and England then get used, misused and abused by them, then come back up here wailing after all we've told you, I'll personally donate three straps I use on my flatbed loads. Then I'll speak with a log trucker driver or two and see if they can donate a log so I can strap you down and ship you down the Savannah River!
We're all tired of seeing those with no experience who think they know more than we do run off and then whine when we told them all along, "Don't do this! Please listen to what we're telling you." There's a lot of good advice to be found here, if you'll listen to the voices of experience who are out here and know whereof they speak.
All th best in your search for a GOOD company...
who has more to offer Cr England or Crst

Heed the advice of these people, I myself joined this forum and read posts for a year before going to school and starting my new career. If not for this forum I would have gone to England or Werner. I went with Roehl and was there for 20 months before moving on.
Shaggy, goblue, zincman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Excactly what he said. I did the same went to a 3rd party cdl school and then went to roehl for 18 months to get my time in.. But its my understanding Roehl has a good school and only requires one year of service. At least that was all when I worked there...
zincman Thanks this. -
most of the megas its 1 year, I know with Swift the way it works you end up paying $1900 during the first year then the 2nd year they pay it back so if you put in 2 years its completely free. Its a cheaper way to go but not always the best option, if you can get the government to pay for a 3rd party school then by all means take advantage. Myself they wouldnt pay for me since I had a degree so they claimed I was already a professional in a field.

Unfortunately cr england also owns crst, so either way you are screwed. I went through cr England in burns harbor indiana. It wasn't that bad. It was rush rush and more rush. within three days you had to go get your permit. then i got about 10 hours of road time behind the wheel. then it was about a week of the range. just keep your head down and study study study every night back in the hotel. that is how i made it through.

Did you quit after the phase 1 training?

yes because they gave me no home time and they wanted me to train a new student when i only had 1 month of experience myself. plus maverick was offering a lot more money per mile.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
