The good paying jobs that I have had in the past all had a similar typ of physical. They are making sure you know how to properly lift a load. How to move said load. What are your joints going to do whan trying to move said load and so on. Basically if you cant do it by the book, it will be noted. It will also be noted what you did when you did it. Remember: Companies not only want to hire you, yet are also looking for a reason on why you shouldnt get hired. So always be on your best behavior
SoulScream84 and tommymonza Thank this. -

my last 2 companies, 15 of driving, didn't allow me to touch freight.
they said it wasn't my job and no ,not union.
the other was a small guy with 10 trucks and was driver himself along with his wife. he didn't want his wife humping freight. lol -
I've taken those tests before, they some wooden crates with like 50 pounds of weights in them had me pick it up walk 25 feet and back, I told the lady come on bring out a couple hundred pounds lets do some real testing and I'm 60 years old

At one company, they wanted me to pick up a rolled full size lumber tarp and put it on a large table. Simulation of getting up on a trailer deck. I asked where the forklift operator was. They didn’t think it was funny. They also didn’t like that a caber tossed it up on the table. They said I could get injured doing that.

The only thing I’ve ever had to do was submit to back xrays. That Job destroyed my already weak back. Should have been a red flag.

The only other place I did one was at McLane, and they put you in different pieces of equipment to test range of motion, I barely passed because of my right knee. Their tests are made to isolate each joint they can, and when you get injured keep them from paying to fix anything. -
I had to do some fitness tests like lift and bending, plus seeing how long I could peddle a stationary bike many years ago for a warehouse job. Driving the only other than the normal DOT physical was at Quality Carriers when driving a tanker. They added a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) to the physical. Had to do that every time I had a new physical
