I currently use Cingular/AT&T/John Cougar Mellencamp Smith Jones Franklin, or what ever their name is this week, and have had a major increase of dropped calls over the last few months. I normally call Dallas/Ft. Worth where my wife, mother, and kids all use Cingular/AT&T/etc.

Who do ya'll use on the nations hiways and byways, and do you use external antennas?

I had two contracts back to back with Verizon. I had good service with them, but got sick of them in the end and switched to cingular. I like cingular better, but don't travel like I did when I was OTR. Used to be verizon had more towers, but cingular seems to be expanding a lot. How old is your phone? That might have something to do with it.

My phone is a 2004 model Moto V551. A rock solid(for the most part) phone. My wife and others all have new phones. I am up for a new phone, but we have to sign a new 2yr contract for me to get a new phone unless I buy through eBay or someone else. I just wanted to get a feel before I commit again.

I've been with what is now Verizon since 95. I've seen two name changes since I first signed up. Before I was OTR I tried out two other companies, with the idea that I would give up Verizon if they proved to be better than Verizon was. THEY WERE NOT. I still have Verizon. I don't even bother with shopping around now.

I switched phones and it took care of some of my problems. Seems like they make them to last a couple of years so you have to get another one. Looks like they thought that out before they made them. Can you here me now?:happy4:

KD5AXG thank you for posting this poll, Alaska doesn't have a lot of the providers that are in the lower 48, so when I come down there, I will now know which cell phone provider to get.

And I've been pleased with Cingular/ATT for several years. Good reception, few dropped.
