I know that it has always been a way of business with companies buying out or taking a stake in another company's business but who really controls who out there? I am looking for the connections with the big boys out there. It would be interesting to not only see the connections, but it might give other drivers the ability to see who really may be the bosses despite the name on the door of your truck.
The ones I know or heard via rumor of the connection.
Crete and Shaffer
Swift and Central Refrigerated
CR England and Pride
Conway and CFI
Super Service and GST
comment added
Heartland and Gordon
Covenant and SRT and Star
US Express with Arnold and Smith
Prime with O and S Trucking and Will Trans who bought Jim Palmer
CRST and Club Car
Crete and Shaffer and Hunt
Conway with CFI and FFE
CRE, Knight, Swift, Central Refrigerated connected by marriages, family, etc.
Who has their hands in what companies?

FFE and Conway (FFE W2's read "Conway driver solutions" and all of our equipment had Conway listed somewhere in the title) prior to FFE being bought out by KLLM, and I think those three are in some kind of love triangle of screwing drivers over.
Toomanybikes Thanks this. -
Ok..... This is easy. Crete/Shaffer/Hunt are all under one umbrella. Same company. The Acklie group I believe.
Gordon Trucking is now owned by Heartland Express
CR England, Pride Transport are owned by the England family, while owned separately they use combined drop lots.
CRE, Knight, Swift, Central (now wholly owned by Swift) are very incestuous, people are married into each family.
SuperService bought GST
Conway bought CFI
no rumors, the CRE/Swift/Knight/Central/Kelles'(Simon) relationships have been well documented out here and CFI and GST were sold years ago. -
Others you may not know Xtreme Transport is owned by Lessors, Inc,
Covenant owns part of SRT and Star out of Nashville
US Xpress has it's hands in Arnold, Smith, and several other companies.
Will-Trans, a division of Prime just purchased Jim Palmer trucking
and Celadon bought everyone else it seems. -
Oh yeah, O&S Trucking is also partly owned by Prime Inc too.
-
Oh yeah! A new one on me, Club Car out of Austell, GA is now a division of CRST. You know, the Crash and Roll Stunt Team!

arent YRC and UPS related?
-
I'm not sure there but I think YRS and Estes are and YRS is Yellow and Roadway.
