Stepbrothers, actually. The ongoing conflict between them is Chattanooga's very own local soap opera.

From another form. I could not put it better and cross-links are frowned upon so I hope this is cool. Sure is informative.

Central (yellow junk trucks) is owned by Matty Mahoon and I heard on here that he owns part of PAM Transport.

Kevin and Randy Knight were childhood friends of Jerry Moyes and family and limited partners in Swift. They felt limited by the nepotism in Swift and got screwed over by Jerry. They left and formed there own company: Knight.

I think Lisa was sold to Celadon.

Celedon also got Glen Moore off YRC.

Trolling again sorry but My dam EQ is not up so I am q q ing about not being able to pew pew on my MMO game <-----and if you did not understand that its ok just leet nerd speak. so that's why I did this I am bored until the patch my game.

    Very true but.................. you said

So how is it THAT you know That?

So they acquired Central for just bragging rights ? really hmmmmm and I thought they did that to diversify there fright base. like Maverick did when they acquired there refer company.

Again so how do you know that?

Oh really When???????? Costco never has been in there top 5 Biggest companies. There biggest customer is Wal-Mart from 1999 to now its been there biggest. any where form 11% to 15% of there total income. and no other company they haul for is over 10% of there total income. source for the above statement http://www.getfilings.com/comp/k0000863557.html

also swift never had 21k trucks never plz source that because I can if you want me to

I hate putting words in your mouth but if it showed they where losing monies, you would most likely say see they are failing.. but if it shows earnings going up its all crap and they are playing with numbers...sorta reminds me of global warming nuts, if it's hot its global warming if it's cold outside its global warming.. also Enron is one hell of a different beast then a trucking companies filling there 10-k report with how they can play lose and fast with numbers.

Thats OK. Some of the BS that goes on here should be challenged.

Read my previous post. You loose trucks, you loose drivers, you loose miles = you loose freight. 2+2=4

Well you could give the corporate propaganda version of the acquisition. Or reason it out. Swift has been loosing ground in the last 5-6 years so has Central. They are behind J.B.Hunt and Schneider in revenue for 2013. Yet, they have more trucks and make less money with them. The number of trucks and miles they have is decreasing for Swift. J.B.Hunt and Schneider are growing. Size of a company is a viable marketing objective in trucking. Swift corp. would consider that seriously in the transaction.

On Jerry's end he was cashing out and getting rid of another business ruined by his nepotism. Central was on a downward swing, in debt, and loosing like Swift. He is cashing out on Swift as you read this:http://teamster.org/content/teamste...lets-ceo-pledge-nearly-25-percent-outstanding

There was no need to buy Central to 'diversify'. Swift had the equipment;they had about as many reefers freed up when they lost costco accounts. Trucks are leased so no problem acquiring them. Swift could have gone out and round up customers.

At various times Swift has claimed Costco is their largest customer. If they are not you might have got me on that. Appreciate the information although your link does not seem to provide the actual ranking of Costco in Swifts customer. It just states at points Walmart is the largest. Correct me If I am wrong but it was not exactly the point of my comment. My point is Swift has lost enough Costco freight alone that the Central freight just bought barely covers it.

    http://www.truckinginfo.com/article/story/2006/03/one-truck-to-21-000.aspx They advertised 21k in 2006-2007

Swift plays with numbers all the time. All the trucking companies do.

The point of this thread is the incest and nepotism of the trucking Cabal. Which there is one, and Jerry Moyes is one of the worst. If some of my detail stray, sorry. Overall they are right and make my point.

If you like Swift open up a thread and If I find something interesting I might reply to. Thanks.
