    Hello all,

We are a husband and wife team and recent grads. We have run into a big problem. My wife has an accident on her record(even though there was no damage to either vehicle and no insurance filed). She also received a following too closely ticket for the incident.

We have applied to a few trucking companies and are getting shot down by every one! I am approved but the safety committees will not even consider my wife.

Does anyone know of a good company that will hire someone with a minor accident on their record? So far US Xpress and IDC have shot us down. We really need to get a job soon! Any help would be huge! Thanks.

A friend of mine is applying with Werner he has an accident on his record and a few seatbelt tickets. From what I know they are going to consider him. He had to get a copy of the police report to show them what happened, damage, injuries, etc. that way they dont jump to conclusions had it all on paper. Anyways im not a driver yet myself not sure if Werner is a good company or not but given the situation you and your wife are in, Id say I would jump on whatever job came across my path rather than stay home and be picky. Like i said im new at this myself so for what its worth hopefully this might help you.

We are not being too picky but we certainly want a good company. The thing that has us really curious is if the accident is even listed anywhere. Since the "accident" didn't involve any damage or insurance we are not even sure it was really an accident.

She has a following to close ticket but there is no record of the accident on the DMV record.

    Does anyone know about this?

In that case go to the DMV ask for an " H6" thats what the 10 year print out is called it will be on there. If it is NOT on the H6 do not vaulanteer the info about the crash, employers go off the H6 report. Its like 5 dollars for the printout. Petty stuff like seatbelts tickets etc take 39 monts to go off ur record DUI i think is 3 or 5 years either way if u have a bunch of clutter on the H6 call DMV records Dept. ask for that number at the DMV once you call them let them know you would like to get some things taken off your record. About 2 or 3 weeks later you get another H6 with none of the clutter on it. Id say that would be step one so you yourself have an idea what the company your going to apply with is going to be looking at.

Your regular insurance agent should also be able to tell you if it shows up on her record. I'd call him and see what he says.:biggrin_25525:

thanks! We will check those avenues. We got a copy of the 3 year dmv and it doesn't show up. But we would rather be safe than sorry so we will get the H6 and call our agent. For no damage to either vehicle this sure have been a pain in the neck.

Could also be identity theft; someone had taken her name and social security number, gotten a fake id with the imposter's face, but your wife's name on it. Imposter got in a fender bender, and now its coming up as an accident that had occurred in another state. The record is in her name and social security number, but under another drivers license number.

There is an underground market where fake documents are sold to illegal aliens, to enable them to secure jobs in the USA. They use real people's name and social security number, then produce authentic-looking birth certificates and matching social security card. The illegal alien then uses these to apply for a state ID or drivers license in another state.

Consumer protection laws stipulate that people who are denied employment, credit, etc.. because of a negative report are entitled to this report (if you demand to see it), or at least reveal which reporting company had furnished the damaging report. Upon receiving a request, you're entitled to a copy of this data to review it for accuracy.
