Suggestions for a new guy looking to pre plan loads a day or two in advance without hiring a dispatch service?

How are you guys signing rate cons and printing BOLs while in the truck?

    Thanks.

    Coffey and 86scotty Thank this.

Deff get a printer/fax for the truck. Or an app on your phone.

Don't waste any time on those dispatch services. They don't have your best interest in mind

Adobe Fill and Sign on your phone. I've used my printer/scanner like twice in six months.

For BOL's, I keep a handful of blank ones. Fill in by hand. 99% of the time the shipper provides it. You just need blank ones for the sketchier places.

Laptop running on a hotspot off my phone, laser printer running off an inverter. I hate doing stuff on my phone.

This is how I would do it if I didn't return home every load. I can't stand phones compared to my home office.

Adobe fill and sign here too. I do everything on my phone. On the off chance I need something printed, I use the fax service at a truck stop.

This truck has become my home office. If I'm home for a few days and need to do truck stuff, like IFTAs last weekend for instance, I walk out to the truck in the driveway and do my work there. Of course, I am lucky to be able to take my truck home. Someday If I'm REAL lucky I'll have a home where I can park the trailer too.

I've thought about mounting a big monitor in the back and rigging up a real home computer but not sure if the rough roads would kill it.

Wireline trucks are loaded with sensitive electronics, and a computer. All rack mounted, and the rack is on "springs" made of coiled steel cable. These trucks get the dog crap beat out of them.

In your air ride cab, I wouldn't see a problem, but you could always make some kind of suspension too.

Yeah, I'm thinking about it. I actually have a nice TV mount still I could mount the monitor to. I yanked it out the day I got the truck. I'm not much of a TV person. Hey, I'd watch it if they would show anything worth watching.
