I like to keep my focus on millions of dollars and the fewest miles possible. I guess I'm running about 75k miles per year on average so far.
Who is 100% on their own here?

Me too. I am doing 50k miles per year. I only run loads that make $en$e.
Being a one man show and having no dispatcher I can really only run 3 loads per week anyway.
I think when my kids get older I will crank it up notch.Shanebklyn, Coffey, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this. -
You may surprise yourself. My situation is different than a lot of guys here being that I'm on career number two. I'm not worried about running hard, 'life' is mostly paid for, but what I've found is that as my kids have gotten older they cost me less money and my wife and I only want to work hard enough to maintain our current lifestyle.
I really like running about 3-4 days a week. I got real sick for about a month recently though so I'd kind of like to turn it up for a month or two before summer vacation.Coffey, Rideandrepair, Ruthless and 5 others Thank this. -

My list is still growing! Corrosion/blasters/painters, suspension specialist/laser alignment shop, TRUSTED local tire shop that lets you watch balance machine, a couple/few of shops in case one is slammed.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
New genuine Prestolite alternator, 3 new AGM batts, all new belts! Freightliner seems to have the best deal on batteries. $72.00 out the door with your cores.

How many TQL calls does that get you?
Rideandrepair and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
I like them now...but I did that once years ago...and they actually called me to ask me why! I said because you call waaaaaay to much for stuff I can't even run! Now I have come to understand that they each have to make 150 calls per day which explains why I get so many dang calls from them for stuff I can't run!

Very few, seems to keep the dirt cheap brokers away to.
