Conway is definitely hiring newbies. They called and email me that they are hiring out of N.Y and to give them a call when Im ready to come aboard. This is of course, after I filled out there app months ago.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Maybe it is just NY...I talked to Conway yesterday and was told minimum 1 yr from IL...

I've been at this for 11 months, and I have yet to meet a happy Werner driver, or someone who used to work for Werner.

Anyone know if Conway TL hires out of FL? Seems like no mans land down here.

Been listening to a lot of the financials lately & most are saying there will be a small spike in the flow of most sectors this summer, followed by a larger fall than what we have experienced due to all the stimulus, bail outs, printing money etc. based on historical cycles.
Not making a political point, just getting the feeling it is going to get much worse before it truly gets better.

RickG Thanks this. -
More people should be watching forecasts for the industry and the economy in general . Those waiting for things to turn around have a long wait .

Yes it probably will be a while for the economy turns around. But, you cant go by what all those experts on television say. It was those same experts that ran AIG, Lehman Brothers, Enron, Circuit City, MCI WorldCom, etc. into the ground.

Might be what some of these bigger companys want, get rid of their competition or do what Celadon does and open a trucking company in Mexico and Canada and then when American drivers won't work for the low pay they (and the ATA) can push for the foriegn companies to be able to work in the U.S.

I LIVE OFF OF INTERSTATE 81 IN VIRGINIA. IVE NOTICED A BIG INCREASE IN TRUCK TRAFFIC IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS.dont know if that means anything.

I was wondering if anyone has any good info on Stevens or Central Ref. Both companies are hiring at Ft. Carson, CO and since i am due to retire i am little cautious about either one. Can anyone give me the straight scoop on these companies, because i do not trust the recruiters. I learned all about recruiters 20 years ago when I joined the military. Thanks
