I am (was) an accountant for many years, but its been a long time (over 10 years?) since I did the books for an owner operator and I am nervous about tackling fuel taxes again.
I don't remember them being that hard but I keep hearing people talking about them like they are the plague?

On the other hand, if you are talking personal taxes for self-employed people, that may be me :biggrin_2556:

    Fuel taxes are easy.

I set up a spread sheet for each truck when I last did it for about 150 trucks.

You enter the gallons, state bought in, rate, miles in state, etc. Info needed to prepare the return.

This forum now has at least 2 experts as supporters, [POST=1500304]Jerry Collette[/POST], and [POST=1500305]Alvin Brown[/POST]. I'm still a newbie here. There may be others, and others may join later.

There are also others here who are expert in taxation (I am an active CPA in FL since 1999) who also has hands-on experience behind the wheel of a big rig.

I have also read some pretty good tax-related posts by a poster who goes by 94nole who I also believe is a CPA.

Nice to meet you. Roadmedic obviously knows his stuff, too. I think he's an enrolled agent. (I think he's a he.)
