I can't imagine a company would tolerate that...Regardless of what a good thing you THINK you're doing, not pulling over when an emergency vehicle comes up behind you may show disregard for you, your load and others on the highway...Suppose he damaged his load or worse, killed the guy?...It's just not your problem when you're in someone else's vehicle and under their insurance...

That being said, I don't drink but I would think some would think throwing a perfectly good case of beer out the window warrants a tazering! :biggrin_2559:

Most large carriers are self insured...small ones and O/O's carry their own.

The trailer owner pays for small things...insurance will pay for the big stuff.

Damage a trailer and you may pay with your job.

sometimes the cops call out to truckers for help. some cops will have cb radios and will call out for any truckers in the area to close up the gaps. as far as who pays for wreckage to the trucks, i do not know. i would venture to guess maybe the person the cops are trying to chase, or the owner of the chased vehicle. in any event, truckers do help when asked.

I've seen that on Cops(I think) and I could see driving straight and blocking a lane but maneuvering and jamming a vehicle between itself and a guardrail seems out of what a company 'may' call acceptable and safe...No?

    to answer that question..........i can't......

i can say that truckers as you know, call out on the cb radio. i'm thinking that other truckers called out and warned of the dangerous driving the pick up truck driver was doing. maybe the truckers thought a little "poetic justice" was needed..........

whatever the case, they still helped out. there probably would have only been minor damages to the trailer, which the truck driver could say some one hit him in a truck stop or something, then he takes a hit for that...??

i just reviewed the video again..........the guy (thug) got 4 felony counts against him for that.......

next, the USA trailer was already beat up and old.........if there was anything that come out of this, maybe the trucker told his company, they confirmed it with the cops. let's not forget, maybe one of those cops DID HAVE a cb radio and was asking for help.
