or what about a local swimming pool, or even better yet, a nice lake off the interstate. Kinda reminds me of that scene in Happy Gilmore where his caddy/the bum would bathe in the pond...and clean his underwear in the golf ball cleaner.![]()

Say, what does a shower run at a truck stop anyways?? I have been attending the Indianapolis 500 since 1999. I'd get there the night or two before the race, and in 2007 i did something for the first time EVER that weekend.....i took a shower there. This guy owned a trailer decked out in individual shower stalls...you paid $5 for a 5 min shower, and it was run kinda like a car wash, pop the coins in, and you get a timer. These showers like that? I've seen them, never looked inside one, for fear of what i would see that would scar me for life.

There is one in Oklahoma off the us 69 I believe, cant remember the name. But I can say this it is the best place to take a shower out off all the TS I have been to..

Truck stop showers run anywhere from $3 to $20
Never been in one that limited water/time
Been in one that could use a few squirts of Tilex, though
Been in one that could use cleaning, never been in one that NEEDED cleaning. -
I guess I'm just lucky!!!! The company I work for would rather pay for a motel than have me idle the truck. after two back to back "turn and burns" to phoenix las week, I turned in five recipts for motels at the companys request. And the math works at current fuel prices it is cheaper to get a motel than burn ten gallons of fuel a nite(or day) too bad everyone can't work here. It is kind of a pain having to fold blankets in a 120 degree trailer but doable

Man-0-Man!
I sure can identify with THAT, amigo!
I spent a whole week, one day in Florida --
foldin' pads in the back of the trailer.
About 100 degrees ambient temperature, who knows how much hotter in the trailer.
And, wouldn't you know it, it started to rain.
But it didn't cool off much at, if at, all.
Luckily I ONLY had around 350 pads to fold after dropping off a load of high-val furniture.
Because I was parked downhill, I had to close the doors to prevent flooding the trailer floor on which my pads were laying, providing an oven effect.
ONLY took me about 5 or 6 hours.
SOMEbody!
Stick a fork in me, ----
I'm done!

most companies aren't so enlightened... while we have a fairly liberal idling policy the company still gets grumpy about it.
