    no longer with them, but i was home every weekend with Milan Express out of tennessee. Not a big company, and once i even deadheaded home to Jackson Tn from Charleston S.C. They have terminals along the way and would ask that i called in as i got closer to see if anything was avail, but nonetheless, i was home every weekend.

    Not necessarily. City driver pay at LTL's averages around $21-$22 an hour.

    It would be a way to go out in flames.........

    I worked longer hours driving local than I did when I drove OTR. So I wasn't at home...I did get my sleep and my days off were days off. WHen I had hometime......I could actually do my household chores.

    Suppose to be getting home every 7 to 10 days with service trucking inc out of eustis florida ,I am just glad to get a pre hire at this point and will be in orientation starting Jan 22:smt023

    Landstar................. as long as the bills get paid no body cares how long my fat butt sits at home. Been home since night of Dec 22 with the exception of delivering load on truck Dec 26 and I made a short run on wed this week Jan 3. NOBODY says a word. I ask NO ONE for time off.
    I leave again for who knows how long tomorrow afternoon.

    Once you get a few years experience you may be able to lease on.

    Guess if I had one year experience, and money for a truck Landstar would be the way to go.. I no of one Landstar driver, and he makes a killin, but he is also single.
