Simple question. When I'm stopped for an inspection, does my passenger have to show identification too?
I am transporting a coworker back home today, but, I refused when he couldn't provide identification. He says it is at his home, where he is heading, but I'm leery of tickets and an inspection because my CVSA sticker blew off in a rainstorm last night.
Who shows identification at an inspection?

You (as a driver) have to show your CDL. As a passenger in a CMV, your coworker may have to prove he is authorized to ride...a pay stub, passenger authorization, etc...if the cop doesn't believe him. There really isn't any law which would require him to have any forms of ID on him, though, and if issued a cite for an unauthorized passenger, all you need to do is provide proof that he is an employee of the company and it'll be dropped...and then data q it to have it removed from the company's CSA.

So why would you refuse an inspection because your "passenger" does not have their ID?

My other concerns have more to do with issues involving white and green sedans.passingthru69 Thanks this. -

When my wife rode and I got pulled in once they demanded her id

Well if he is another company driver and they asked you to give him a ride, why not have the company type up a letter on their letterhead stating such that he does not have ID, but they vouch for him and he is authorized to ride in the company truck with you.
