it was probably another no-name Mcmahon underpaid wrestler. Just like in trucking, the company makes the money not the driver (in some cases). Same goes with wrestling and in porn. It's life in general. But enough about drugs...
who tests for drugs: employers or schools as well?

I'll speak for myself and don't care if I get flamed. I've smoked pot off and on for my entire adult life. When I was younger, I might smoke every day for a couple of weeks, and I've also gone over 10 years with out a single instance of any illegal drug use. There have been times were I might smoke once or twice a year, and other times once a month. Does that make me a drug addict? No it doesn't, it means I treat it they way most people treat alcohol.
Last week I pissed clean for CDL school and I will not do any drugs for as long as I have CDL license, which I hope will be a very long time. I don't think this will be hard for me.
But sometimes these questions are legitimate. Some people have used drugs in the past, but they are clean now and intend to stay so. I'm not worried at all about a piss test. A hair follicle test from my arm pit makes me a little nervous. One test picks up 30 days. The other up to a year.
That is a HUGE difference for someone just getting started in this profession. Yes they understand they have to stay clean but that doesn't change the past.HotH2o, fieldchaser and HalpinUout Thank this. -
The above post demonstrates my point why DOT MANDATED HAIR FOLLICLE TESTING should be required for ALL U.S. persons applying for a class A license.
For employer random testing urine testing should NOT meet the qualifications for compliance.
ONLY hair follicle testing is legitimate to weed out the undesirables.FLATBED and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
I dont disagree with you, I believe there should be zero tolerance for drug use in this industry. I'm happy to piss in a cup every day, it doesn't matter to me, I will be clean. But you kind of act like any person who has used a drug in the past is probably stoned right this second. I'm 39, it's been a long and winding road.
For the record, I am paying to have a hair follicle test done anonymously before I apply to any company. I recommend anyone who is committed to staying clean and wants to prove it, do the same. It only costs $100 and is worth every penny. Better than showing up to orientation having pissed clean then the follicle finds you screwed up 9 months ago and you can't get a job.fieldchaser Thanks this. -

can activated charcoal supplements drive out "toxins" from the body?

HotH2o, "semi" retired and joseph1135 Thank this.

are the drugs tested usually for "scheduled drugs" (i.e. illegal) but not necessarily for prescription drugs (sometimes obtained without prescription)?
-
You are tested for Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiated (Opium and Codeine derivatives), Amphetamines and Methamphetamines, and Phencyclidine-PCP. If you have one of these in your system and you test positive for it, the testing agency should contact you to see if you have a prescription that can be documented by them. If you have not had any one of thses drugs I wouldn't worry about it.

It's funny how often these thread get started, some are legit , but most are a fishing expedition for a recovering addict or an active one looking to circumvent the system. But , the fact remains that a person who is legitamately looking to start a career in this field , will be honest enough with themslves to do the reserach needed to find out just what the facts are concerning drug usage and the trucking industry...that includes the testing criteria and anything else to do with this subject....those folks really sincere will take the time and put forth the effort to doing so....not just join an internet forum and start asking questions.....
