you get tested during school, can even be more than once, companies test when hiring, and if you pass that you are always subject to randoms, imo if you have to ask you shouldnt* try to start a career in this industry.
its to dangerous and one failed test will end your career, come back in 15 years after your prison term and find a bottom feeder that hires felons. -

I know in Chicago they require the schools to do a test. Then most companies do a hair test that checks 3 months back.

The school I went to required a DOT physical and UA before they'd even assign you to a class...

Here's a little info for you all, in 1993 I was involved in a fatal head on accident,(Not my fault). I was picked up at the scene and taken to the hospital, (knee injury), I was placed in the emergency waiting room as every person in the hospital was trying to save and stabilize the wife who was in the car, so she could be air lifted out. I had been there about 5 minutes when the local police arrived, introduced themselves and told me that I had been involved in a fatal accident and they need to take both a breathalyzer test and a drug test. This was done for the investigation and also to protect me incase of any allegations later. (The officers knew how stringent my company was on safety and drug, alcohol use.) I had 2 other drug tests within the next two days.
So, if you think you can skirt the rules and do whatever you want, be prepared, when I left the DC that Sunday, I didn't plan in being in an accident. 1 hour and 7 minutes later, I was laying on the shoulder of the road, looking back at my semi rolled on it's right side that I had just ran away from because of the fuel leak and possible fire hazard. (I wasn't going to burn to death in that truck.)Giggles the Original, ironpony, KW Cajun and 1 other person Thank this. -
