Lol facts Huh. Did you know it's a fact most walk away leases are dubble leased the company leases then leases to driver. Did you know there are several consulting companies that help companies set up these programs just to attract drivers. Since you want facts. I did it for 3 years I know exactly how it works and yes when it's all said and done it's not a smart move lol why you think the turnover rate so high. And if it worked and ppl were paying off trucks there would be owner ops out the wazoo out here but there's not funny Huh. Lol
wvega182 and Straight Stacks Thank this. -
I did l/p for 15 months. I would have purchased the truck outright were it not for one detail. My payoff was right in line with comparable trucks on the open market. In the end I decided I hate a 10 spd more than I liked the rest of the truck.
I put 178k on the clock. When I turned it in the company decommed and sold it. I watched it leave as the power unit of a deck set.
I turned my lease truck in because I purchased a truck. I didn't starve. I didn't go broke.
There is a whole bunch of facts that trump that simplistic blather you spew as fact.TracyN, Ketchikan baby and blacklabel Thank this. -

You're a bright one aren't you.
News flash.... most businesses fail in the first two years. That includes all forms of single truck operations btw.
Of course most fail doing lp. Look around at you fellow drivers. What percentage would you guess could successfully operate a lemonade stand. As for ooida, it would be difficult for me to care less what they think of lp. I'd guess I'd have to be deceased.
btw.. we're still waiting for the answer to your question. Show everyone how smart you are and dazzle us with your facts.Last edited: Aug 14, 2015

$52K net a year, after taxes and I'm making my truck payment.
So, I'm supposed to take a company job for $1200 a week and save up to pay cash for a truck? ... Does anybody here understand leverage and how to use it?
OOIDA a law firm, fronting an insurance company, scamming drivers for dues to cover their overhead.
And why do so many drivers fail? Look no further than the OP. Leases are like witches, there's good ones and bad ones. If you have any lick of business sense you know how to do due diligence and find the ones that are viable ... If you're idea of due diligence is to go on the internet and ask which are the good and which are the bad, it's indicative of a lack of business acumen ... a lack that is going to doom you to failure in any business venture.
The single biggest fault with lease opportunities, is they require no business skill at all to qualify ... any idiot can try it and fail. Those that know what they're doing can and do succeed ...Last edited: Aug 14, 2015

OOIDA tells you right there on their page. LP is a gimmick. First things first. If your not selecting your own freight and dispatching your self you are not a owner opperator you are a company driver paying for their truck for them. If you caint leave with that truck same as above.

1200 a week comes to 62k a year buddy lol. With no headache. I made 55k a year at .39 cpm 5 years ago. 52 is below even sub par pay in this industry.

As for the rest of the nonsense, who cares. It doesn't impact the business case one way or the other ... that's like saying MacDonald's isn't a real restaurant because the franchise agreement only allows them to serve the menu items, that they have to buy from the MacDonald's Corp ... Doesn't matter what you call it, it's still a viable business opportunityNatethetrucker04 and JP89 Thank this.
