Basically it's a lot of risk to make no more than a company driver. But I guess when you are just a company driver that pays to work it makes sense lol. It's more than a title it's your own athority so you can run the loads you want. Cut out the middle man that's takeing the bulk and leaving the crumbs. And all those that know anything about this industry know what I'm saying.

It's some owner operator with there own authority that making the same as lease operator are making some weeks. It don't matter what route you take to prosper your business as long as you have a solid business plan.

Oh yeah just cause you have a title to you truck doesn't make you anymore successful then any other person. I rather have 5 lease trucks to your one paid truck with your title. But hey that's just me and we can agree to disagree.

You haven't been paying attention ... Morgan's already explained it ... if you don't "own" everything, you don't have a business.

So the only way to be successful is to own all your company asset. That's new to me I guess that's the only way. You got me(hands up).

Most companies buy stuff on credit...which is pretty much the same as leasing the truck. If you fail to make your payments, they can take the stuff you bought back, with a MAJOR ding to your credit. If you fail to make your payments when leasing a truck, they can take it back and, depending on your lease agreement, it won't affect your credit much, if at all.

    Hmm...Landstar is a non-assest company. I guess they aren't a real business then.

Better tax benefits leasing a truck than owning. A paid off truck has very little tax benefits but every lease payment is 100% deductible. I would rather always have a new truck under warranty & write off the payments then buy one & depreciate it for 3 years then have an old truck with no warranty. But that's just me. Different strokes for different folks.

I know a little about the industry and understand what you're saying perfectly. I also think you're full of it. :)
