From the experiences people have shared about this company, I don't think I could work there. There's a reason they need to spam craigslist with the "we'll fly you to orientation!" ads.

Yeah I heard the stories too. But guaranteed pay is guaranteed pay. If I talk to them there will be a few questions I need answered.

I used to be leased to Schneider so I can give you more details about them. If you can get on a dedicated account, you will do OK. Usually, the single drivers don't make much because they make them load a live load, then give it up to teams. With the big carriers, teams are more valuable so the carriers bend head over heel to give them the long loads and make company drivers give up their loads for the teams.

As for Prime, I thought they only take on lease operator. If so, it will be hard to hang with them because their lease operator pays over $1300 weekly for truck lease, maintenence account, and many other fees. That doesn't include fuel, so if there is a slow week, you may be behind and once behind, its very hard to catch up.

    mystro2005 Thanks this.

Fwiw - Prime does have company drivers. Almost always in the mini trucks.

Abilene does dry and reefer and $1k per week gross is easily done. Trucks are Cascadias, Volvo780, KW T680 and Mack whatevers that are sold off when they hit 3 years old. They are equipped with 1800watt inverter, fridge and bunk heaters, idle retricted between 28-65f and recently got turned up to 69 on the pedal and 72 on cruise. They are all automatics, Qualcomm equipped and have driver facing cams if those are an issue for you. 1 day home for every 6 out. I have taken up to 10 days off with no issue

    JV_620, C & C and mystro2005 Thank this.

    72 mph; that's a good recruiting tool.

That's not enough to negate the driver facing cameras.

Danny Herman Trucking doesn't run northeast, but does run lots of California and Texas border towns. APU etc. in the trucks. No guaranteed weekly pay though.
