Ok, so I couldn't get the line of credit I was expecting... now the only option I have is to put two or three of my tuck in a lease and hire drivers... At least that way, fuel is not going to be a problem and the bills get paid. I'll find something to do to pay for my personal bills...
Now the golden question... what company to lease to and where...
Trucks are mobile so I can station them anywhere where I can find a good shop. When they come home for the week end the shop can do routine maintenance and that way the truck can keep moving...
Any suggestions?
Who to lease trucks to...

Fikes, Ace Doran, Cardinal, Landstar, Mercer. These companies do mostly flat, Landstar does a lot of different, flat, step, van, heavy haul etc.
As with any company do your research and make the final decision yourself. No one here is going to tell you that any one company is the one and only. If some thing goes wrong like it can (murphy's law) nobody wants to hear "you sent me in the wrong direction".
GOOD LUCK! -
One I've heard mentioned, time and again is Prime, and they have refrigerated as well as other modes available.
I don't know what I'm going to do, but it will be something different that doesn't involve the ornery mechanics where I'm at now. -
Landstar has vans, reefers(very few),flats, steps, specialized.Mercer has flats, steps, specialized, and vans now(you have to have your own).Plenty of others.Don't depend on the recruiters to tell you the truth.Talk to the drivers, especially those that have been there awhile.Alot depends on your equipment and where you try to run.I'm leased to Landstar with a dry van.Don't like everything about the co. but I do like being able to go when, where, and how I want, booking my own loads, going home when I want to and not being bothered by dispatchers,etc.L/S is about as close as you can come to being a true o/o without having your own authority. You will pay for everything here, but you will also be operating pretty much on your own..

Thanks for the input again... I've called a couple of them but they want drivers that actually own the truck... Fedex will take my fleet, they offer 1.05 cpm plus fuel surcharge and drivers are home every day.. but they have nothing available in Texas...
The cost of moving the truck is about $1.05, plus maintenance... the fuel surcharge is currently at about $0.45 that would leave me with a few cents... but my loan payments are not that high, and since the company takes care of the insurance it would be ok I guess... All I want right now is for the trucks to take care of the bank loan payments as to not have bad credit... -
Try GreatWide. Most likely you could a dedicated Walmart account for a couple if all driver information comes back ok.
Landstar is another possbility if you can run 24/7.
Can you provide a list of your trucks and I can search around for you for companies that can take you with what you have.

Well, I called Ace Doran ... I have to say I am very surprised...
According to what they told me... Their loads are paying from $2.00 to $3.00 a mile. Since I will be using my flatbeds and vans, they will pay me 77%. They will pay tolls and insurance. They say they can bring my trucks every weekend home (well, not realy home but within 200 miles). They will take all my trucks as long as they pass inspection.
Sounds too good to be true... The terminal is in Houston... They also offered me a position working for them and told me my percentage could be a little higher if I worked for them in the office...
I am beside me... Even at $2.00 a mile it's still $0.20 more than what brokers are paying trucking companies around here... And no insurance, dispatcher, Ifta, permits, etc. to pay...
I just don't know what to say, on one hand it makes sense that a company that size can get that type of rates and on the other hand my mind doesn't allow me to believe it... They want me to fly to Houston on tuesday...
What do you guys say? -

The rate is probably before their take.
I would take another look at Ace if I was going to lease to a company. If they had Rocky mountain flat freight I would sure be tempted to give them a try. -
I know allot of the operators at ace doranhave been there a long time. That is usually the best indicator you can go by.
Lucifer leased to them for a long time and highly recommends them. with ace it seems that every terminal is a seperate entity though so there may be differences from terminal to terminal.
there is also ace transport out of houston, beaumont and I think they have a dallas terminal too. they do allot of oilfield hauling, pipe etc. they run just a few state area.
Just out of curiosity, where in TX do you live? What kind of trucks do you run and what are you planing to pay? I may be interested if you can give me more then 34 hours a week home like I'm getting now
