I know I have to get six months to a year experience to go to a good truck company. Swift has already contacted me. What about Schneider. CRST, FFE. I want to go OTR for the next ten years or so. If you want serious advice I will tell you what I have been preaching to the others. Go after the companies that aren't advertising that much. This means they have a lower driver turnover rate, which in-turn means their drivers are happier working for them. It is going to take a little more effort but will be well worth it! I see you are out of Texas. Your options should be limitless out there! The companies that you have to put more effort into are going to be the ones that are worth it in the long run. STAY AWAY from the mega-companies! The schools get kick-back from these companies and will push you towards them. These companies make more money by hiring newbies for a week and letting them go as to opposed of hiring good drivers that are in it for the long run. Mega-companies ie: Swift, werner, england, schneider etc... I wish I could say this is an opinion but its not. Just the facts. I have been driving for over 13 years and have experienced quite a bit of trucking company bullsh-t! Welcome to the forum and good luck on your endeavor. There is quite a bit of good info on here. Also a lot of crap. You must sort through it yourself and determine what's good for you.

I'm in the Portland Oregon area and have been wondering about where I'm going to start my career. Im curently selling my BMW and Sony HD TV together for 3k Just so I can pay a few bills off and have traveling money.

Thats how serious I am about this but I would hate to do all of that just to end up with a crapy company. Sure I've looked at just about every company listed on this website and all I read is 95% negitive things and 5% positive and semi-positive things about any given company.

I DO want to learn from others misstakes and understand any job can be what you make of it howver I'm ot trying to be screwed either..

Yup I plan to but like most newbie members here I would love to ultilize this forum to weed out the ######## companies from the decent ones. Which is why I'm trying to find out what suggestions the trucking community would have.

First day of school was great. First part of the day was going over school procedures and doing paperwork. The second half of the day was spent on learning how to fill in the daily log and explaining the 11, 14, 60, 70 hr rule. That is it for now. Stay safe.
Does anybody know anything about US XRESS ENTERPRISES
