have had my class A for years, like 7 years. I got it as a mechanic, ive never been a full time professional driver. I currently drive a KW t800 with a 53 step deck for the same company i'm a mechanic at. btw never had a ticket in a cmv

My $.02...you can settle this today. Go on your state DMV website and download your driving history report. That's the same report that employers are going to look at. If that report pulls up your dozens of moving violations, my advice would be to "spray and prey" some applications out there to the larger/"second chance" carriers that will take just about anyone with a pulse, but don't get too excited.

If that report doesn't look too bad...well...you've got some options out there.

thanks gump, I just looked at it, only goes back two years but its spotless, I can pay for a three year one but I know its clean, might show a out of state seatbelt ticket.

Not sure what the problem is. He was young and dumb and for the last 10 years has stopped getting tickets. You'll be fine.

Basing on what you posted, you could probably get hired at a lot of places, most only go back 10 years on what you posted

I think you're good to go! Just fill out the applications honestly; most only ask about tickets within the last 3-5 yrs. That one seatbelt ticket won't be a problem. I'd fudge a little on the experience and say "I was a driver and mechanic for 7 years", and not say "I was a part time driver." Never volunteer information that isn't asked for!

Do you know where you plan to apply? If not, put your location on your profile and probably get some good leads from drivers on here. Do you wear a coonskin cap? Are you from Kentucky?

Try Waggoners Trucking Company; they have a variety of flatbed trucking and even a car hauling division.

Here's another: Jones Bros. Trucking, Inc. - Missoula, MT

Jones Bros. has a pretty good pay structure on practical milage pay and the website shows $50.00 tarp pay. Also have a rider program.
