Ok I am almost finished with school and take my test on the 22nd of July, I have pre-hires from 3 companys and I am not sure which way to go? I am 47, so not sure about the flatbed side. Who would you start with?
Prime tanker division; 40,000 truck miles for training, sounds like alot!!!
Schneider tanker, home weekends but the terminal is 75 miles away! I could maybe switch to OTR tanker.
Melton flatbed, I have to find out about the training.
I also just put an app in for Roehl and was sent a pre hire, I don't know much about them yet. It is a reefer company and the home time sounds descent, 14/7 or 7/3.
Any kind of input and opinions would be appreciated!! Anything good or bad about these companys, and witch on you would personally go for? Thanks I will also do some research on this site. John
Who would you go for?

Probably Roehl....I believe they're more of a midwest company that drivers have told me pays pretty good.. Schneider tanker would also be a good place to start. Not Prime.
I think Melton works out of Laredo a lot but I could be wrong....maybe that's just one route?? I'd have to know more about them but I know they pay decent.

75 miles away is nothing. Same as an hour and 10 minute commute that lots of people do every day, twice.
Raymia, truckerlife74 and Puppage Thank this. -
Other than a slow truck and little home time Prime is a good company. At least better than most mega starters from what I've read on here.
Personally I'd go with Melton, but I'm 22 and I've yet to see what kind of limitations an older body has hahaRaymia Thanks this. -

If you're looking for flatbed and home time Millis has the most generous policy I've seen. You can choose how long you're out. I think there's a bonus for staying out 21+ days.
1 week paid vacation after 6 mos. 2 weeks after a year.
Either way Melton is a good choice, a lot of people speak very highly of them on here and you'll be treated right. -
You think 75 miles is a lot ? Wha Wha What ? That's like an hour. Dude, your a trucker.....that's nothing.
