Who's The Worst Of Them ALL to work for?

well,i agree with everyone about swift,but i haveto say msj trucking in opp alabama also

 

Poor old swift sure does take a beating.

 

My question; is Swift so terrible to experienced drivers or mainly the way they take advantage of newbies?

 

I dunno...I never drove for Swift. But if they'll screw over people who are guilty of nothing more than being naive, they're bound to bend me over whenever they think they can put one over on me. Sorry--I don't need the stress. Satan will wear a parka before I consider going with that company.

 

Swift will screw over an experienced driver just as well as a newbie.I came out of retirement in Feb.of 2006 and signed on with Swift.It was a bad mistake on my part and after 4 months of their BS I quit.I could write a book on the different ways Swift can screw over a driver.Their dispatchers,er excuse me DMs think they own the company and the drivers.Trying to get home after three weeks or a month out is like trying to pull teeth out of rattlesnake.In plain English they aint no darn good,stay away from them.I wouldnt reccomend them to my worst enemy.:smt023

 

Swift seems to get badmouthed alot by drivers on here. But very few ever say exactly whats wrong with them. So I'm asking now, what's wrong with Swift? I've asked several drivers already and most of the time they tell me that they don't like the speed of Swifts trucks being governed at 65 mph. And my personal feelings on that is that if you need to go any faster then that, you're in way too much of a hurry. But that may not be the only thing people think is wrong with them so if anyone has a different issue with them, I'd love to know what it is.

 

ZmanTransAM,Heres a couple.DM called me on a Mon.wanted to know if I would like a load going from warren,OH.to Sparks NV.very good miles naturally I took it.Then the fun begins one month on the good old west coast,he would not give me a load coming back east.Now there aint nothin bad about the west coast,but to me it aint home.Finally after a month out there I get a load headed east.Wound up in Detroit,and unloaded,then spent an entire day and about 150 miles in the Detroit area trying to find an MT trl.for my next load.Never did find one.Finally picked up a preload in Findlay,OH.and relayed it in the Columbus term.It the took another day to find an MT trl.in Columbus so I could get home for a couple of days.Second true story.picked up a load in Nashville,and started for SC.truck broke down about 60 mi.east of Nashville.Truck and trl.were towed back into Nashville where a team picked the trl.up so it could be delivered on time.I was put up in a cheap motel for 2 days.Then put on a darned old Greyhound bus to go to Jonestown,PA.and pick up a newer truck,which my DM said I would like a lot better.After riding all afternoon and night on a stinking bus I get to Jonestown.Pick up the newer truck and was dispatched the next morning to bring a Sears load back to Columbus.My DM sent me a message to call him live.Seems I am supposed to pick up another driver in Columbus and take him to Nashville.When I get there I am informed that my truck has been repaired in Nashville and they gave the newer truck to a kid who barely has 3 months experience.That was like a slap in the face.These are 2 true experiences I had with Swift.There were several more before I pulled the plug.The fleet mgr.assigned me to a new DM,who tried very hard to do right by me,but by then the damage had been done.
