I voted Swift. I have seen so much stupid stuff from Swift drivers, that I have installed a vid Cam on my truck dash to capture some of it. Figure I might make a few bucks on AFV.

Well I can certainly agree with what I have seen some swift drivers do out oh the road. Now I guess my question would be do the trainers or whatever they are called actually train them to do that stuff or is it shear like of ability? I witnessed a Swifty finish fueling, pull up then got out of the truck with his shower gear. I Had to back out from behind him so I could leave. What the heck is that all about? It certainly made plenty of people upset. I cant believe the lack of respect and contempt these people have for fellow drivers. It is as though they only care for themselves. I once witnessed anouther Swifty pull into an Idle Air slot and he took up two spaces. He got out went in and got a hamburger and such and came back out and got in his truck and left. What Respect Man. Go Swift! What a bunch of freakin losers! I am feelilng so much better about my company now.

it looks like i am the only one to complain about the up and coming Swift sister "central refrigerated services inc." they preach that there drivers come first but reality, the load does. central recently purchased swift so enough said there. the dispatchers "driver mngrs" have no expereince or brains, they think that they are god and you are a pile of @##$ to step on all the time. However, i have to say that theschool was great. they are an independant school hired by central ref. if you dont beleive what i say about the way they treat the drivers just take a tour through there driver facility in west valley center U.T. and the trucks that are issued out of Fontana C.A. i suggest get your training then run like an antalope away from them.

I'm stumbling over this part of your post, Wiz:
"...central recently purchased swift...."
Did I miss somethin' in the truckin' world of late? This would be like a Mag-8 earthquake. I don't think this happened, man. You'd better check on that one.
I definitely will take your advice and check them out, but I've heard from several drivers that Central is OK to work for. I'm gonna have to respect those other guys and say I'd take a chance on Central. This means I would actually make the effort to go look at their yards, their EQ, and their advertising. Maybe I'd then actually go to a Central orientation and hire on with them. But then maybe I wouldn't. It would all depend on what I saw during my checks. -
C.R.England seems to get some of the worst postings against them.I wonder if their so awful,WHY DO PEOPLE LINE UP TO WORK FOR THEM?
Any Idea's?

Because a lot of them have a past that will not let them get hired by other companies and to them it is a last chance to get into trucking. Add the icing on the cake that CR makes them not only feel that they can become a trucker, but also own their own truck. What they leave out is a lease is not an O/O. It would help if there was some stats offered by how many go belly up trying this lease/ belly- up offer. -

If Central is OK to work for, then I'm in the wrong line of work. From what I understand it's gone weird in the last month (FM quitting in droves) and there are problems everywhere. OTRM still seems to be working good, which is nice, because I need them on just about every trip!
Hey drivers, when you see cords on the sidewalls of your trailer tires, don't drop it at a customer's yard. Because I will find out who dropped that trailer sooner or later, and I will get my 4 hours of sitting with my trailer in the air back from you, somehow.

Panda, I've heard from a few drivers here, such as EarthBrown, that Central is good to work for. I believe what he says about 'em. But know I also believe you.
I guess if I were choosing a company at the moment, I'd have to put Central on the back burner. Maybe I'd go with them, but maybe I wouldn't. I'd definitely go in with a much-bigger magnifying glass if I were checking them out. If insiders are quitting in droves like you say, I'd probably avoid them now. They know something you don't, like writing that is on certain walls. Writing that you don't have privvy to.
If Swift is buying out Schneider, that is a Mag-10 earthquake. I can't imagine Swift buying them. But no one in 1999 thought Swift would buy out Mike Stearns in Memphis.
