    Very true, but:

1st. Each Attorney General has a Consumer Protection Division that protects no one because they don't have the funds. So why do we have a consumer protection division on payroll.

When Government does not work, eliminate government that does not work.

2nd. Drivers / Owner/Operators don't always have a choice in their freight or their rates if they want to move. The problem is no State or Federal Protection. Washington State passed a law that protects any driver who works over 40 hours per week, yet no one in the State insures the drivers are protected.

Again, when Government doesn't not work, eliminate government.

The total deregulation of the Transportation industry without at least protecting bottom end freight rates opened the doors for Monopolization of which was illegal. The powers used this open door for forced mergers, acquisitions and bankruptcies.

Now, when do the drivers and owner operators decided enough is enough?

    Never! N o g o n a d s :biggrin_2552:

Each State at one time had States Rights that they could use to protect citizens in that state. However, most states have given up States Rights and that means Federal and Congress has authority.

Who will fix the problems? When will drivers stand up for each other and for what is right?

No one! Never!:biggrin_25513: Since Congress does not work perhaps we should fire all of them to.

In the past I have seen some companies take Veteran's and ex military, but with the requirements for being school trained and the restrictions by the Federal and State Governments you may find it very difficult to get in with just your Military. I really don't know where you stand at this point but you are right. Experience is experience and being military, you have been school trained in the transportation field.

Have you tried showing your credentials to companies? I would find it enteresting to see how you are treated as I am retired military with 14 years in the driving business before I walked away.

Love to know your experiences in the Middle East. Drop me a line if you have time.

    Good luck.

R government is no longer for the people. It's now 'government for the corporations by the corporations.'

Yes, my trucking friends there is a big disparatety between fuel prices. I drive for a FedEx Ground Contractor, we pay $124.9 for diesel at our terminals, as many of the larger companys do. I also ask that my fellow trucking friends take it easy on those FedEx Ground drivers as not all of us are Croations or Bosnians who don't speak english & have no regards for trucking courtisy. My partner & I drive the I-80 corridor any many of those freeway closing roll overs are those drivers I have previously mentioned. Take care & safe driving.
