All very true. However, who in Congress is talking about fixing the US Economy? No one! All we see are those in public office that want to continue taxation at a higher Level.

The problems with this country are centered around what the US Citizen considers their rights to what ever they think they are.

I will attach a message I sent out to the world starting with a very prominent speaker giving a commencement speech at Texas A & M.

We have too many people with too many individual opinions and very few are on the right track.

Does anyone know exactly what Swift got busted for, and if it will stick? Just curious, I used to work for that company way back, and am curious if their crap is ever gonna stop.

 

why is it swift the company that get the bad rap maybe it is the drivers that do the dumb stuff what about sni?

 

Does anyone out there know anything about PAM Transport? I am trying to decide between PAM, DECKER or Averitt when I get out of CDL training. I want to work for a good company as I intend to make this acareer and want to be with 1 company for the long haul. I want to find a good company, stay there and retire from there. Thanks for any advice everyone.

 

Feb. 25, 08 a couple of Swift TN offices were raided by a number of gov. acengies. The agencies invovled are not ID'ing the reason for the raid.

as long as you have no problem with being clean shaven, i would say averitt here. to me they seem the best of the three choices you have given. plus after some time with them you can put in for day cab driver work with them and have the opportunity of either being home every day or staying in hotels they put you in if you do run line haul.

 

Swift is one of the biggest trucking companies if not the biggest with around 22,000 trucks so your going to hear alot about them. Basicly they are a big trainer of drivers, so your gonna hear alot on this point and even more because of this.

The turn over is high, (and your gone hear alot because of this), for numerous reason's; trucking requires that people be away from home and this is far more difficult than people realize. They have to live in a fairly small area; the sleeper for weeks. For some reason it seems that shippers and receivers believe they can threat drivers in a rude and even provoking manner, and people find they WON'T except this. When you work a regular job, you have access to a tiolet, regular breaks, etc. You go home were you can eat properly. You go to sleep regularly and you wake up regularly.

The pay is low but what you have here is a trade off, they train you and take you on as a new driver. In return you drive at a training driver rate. That's not bad. Unfortunately for us Americans we all of a sudden want more, and more right away.

When I first came to this site I was scared off of Swift. I was thinking about getting on with them because they have depot 12 miles away. I have since digested what I've read and have talked with a couple drivers. I've just come to the understanding that Swift is 1st a huge trucking co., and a huge training company.

This helped me understand Swift a little better. May be it will give you a better start than I had. I hope it does.
