You all seem to want a nation wide strike all the time. Why not just strike the Company that you work for only if there that bad.
Sounds like you could flip hamburger's at McDonald's and make just as much.
I know they will put new meat in the seat.Who cares it don't sound like you want to work for them anyway.
If you go to work for a guy that has a big fancy truck and will pay you $0.25 your happy . I hear it all the time this guy don't pay much but he has great equipment.(Can your family eat that fancy truck?)
I also hear about these big company's that promise you the world and you wind up setting in a truck stop .( call back )
Well why not fix the company you work for? Maybe such a thing the owner don't even knows what's going on with you drivers. He hires someone to manage the company and pays him a big wage to do that. Now if you were that man would you want to tell him we got a problem .Hell no he don't want to loose his job so he start cutting corner to save money. (drivers pay ,truck maintenance , hauling cheap loads more miles to tell the owner.)
What I'm saying a lot of time the owner has no ideal whats going on with HIS company and a company strike will wake him up to the problem.
If they want to meet with you .ONLY IF THE OWNER IS THERE.
Solve your own problem and not jump ship and go with your buddy's that's having his own problems. If the truth was known he probably has the same problems as you (maybe more) Be your own man.
    Take care drivers Danny

CR England all the way, no miles, no pay, and absolutely NO home time! When you're with them you can be out for 3 months before you get to go home and when you ask to go home they have the balls to as WHY DO YOU WANT TO GO HOME?
Swift is a close second, I seen way too many of their trucks flipped over in a ditch or jack-knifed on the road or barreling into the back of a car full of people.

I've never drove for SWIFT, and never will, thank God. Just from hearing and seeing after 11 yrs otr I guess they would be the worst. Although there are a lot of companies in the running with good ole' SWIFT. Ha! I can't see why the still have rights to operate

CB talk at its finest on the internet. Saying you havent and wont ever is not really a smart statement. For example.

You need a job right now and Swift is the only one hiring. Well then according to your statement, you wont be driving a truck anymore. What it comes down to is this. When you need a job in a profession you like or are skilled for, it dont matter who you work for. I have my problems with swift but like someone else said, i wont drive for Swift cause of their drivers... well thats a pretty dumb reason why not to drive for a company if you need work. In this economy there is not really that many choices on who to work for. Pray that your company makes it through this as i do. I DO NOT want to look for another job before we are out of this so called depression.

Have good reasons to why its the worst company to work for besides its drivers or hear say. Try it out and then provide the facts. NO ONE started driving a truck as if they already had 30 years expierience.

Me... well one day i will leave swift for a local job if i can find one but am very happy with my choice right now to drive OTR and glad that i could learn and still learn everyday. High school, college, training degrees in other fields that have nothing to do with truck driving and look at me now. At least my kids will have what they need to survive.

This aint for everyone. Thats understood. :biggrin_2554:
