To make a long story short..I went to Swift school some time ago, I got my cdl drove for swift for over a year. Left swift to try and get a local job. When the local job ran my license they said I surrendered my license back in Jan 2009. I left Swift in Sept 2009. This whole time I was driving with no license at all. I went to my local dmv, they told me that I had surrendered it. I in fact did not because I was driving for them that whole time. Turns out it was the dmv where I went to school for swift and all they could tell me was to fill out this paperwork and my license was good again. I had a local police officer where I live run my license the next day and he said everything was ok. What if I had gotten pulled over in that 9 months with no license, what if god forbid I had gotten into an accident or something worse. I had no notification from either dmv. But shouldnt have swift ran my license again in orientation? It said it was surrendered on january 2nd 2009 and i went to orientation on january 6th?? Im just glad to know I have my license back, but that mix up has cost me 3 or 4 local jobs I have applied for. What do I do next?????

It probably has something to do with Swift school in Memphis, Tn. from a few years back. All students that obtained their cdl from Swift were notified that their license was not valid. (or, were supposed to be notified). Apparently, there was some sort of hanky-panky as far as qualifying new students. The state of Tn. revoked all licenses issued by Swift at that time.

I had heard about that happening and I got a trip the beginning of the year out to Cali. Well when I pulled through the scale in Arizona they asked me if I had ever worked for swift and I said yes but I did not get my license through them because I knew why they were asking. They still had me pull to the side and they ran my CDL through the system. They said they were asking every truck if they worked for Swift and if they had their CDL was getting checked and they had found several that were not valid anymore. They were not pressing charges though just making the companies come get the trucks and having the driver get it fixed.

I got to the bottom of it..It was NY's DMV fault. I have been driving for 11 months with no cdl....I hate saying that. I had a level 1 DOT inspection done too in April of 2009 and they never said nothing.
