Here's my question, are the owners of SWIFT/WERNER/JB HUNT/CR ENGLAND/ & so on worried about the CSA2010 law? Or is this there way of sanctioning a way of getting rid of the smaller outfits? And getting more freight?
I would imagine that they will lose drivers also, being that the evaluation goes back 3 years per driver.
I wrote on another thread that I am going to start driving a taxi, laughing at the loons in the back seat.......no CSA2010 here.
Why a strike? The CSA 2010 will cripple trucking.

quoteRequire Electronic Onboard Data Recorders also remains on the Most Wanted List, and had previously been elevated to red, for unacceptable response from FMCSA.
The EOBR requirement stems from 2007 tractor-trailer rear end collision. NTSB views the recorders as an Hours of Service enforcement tool, as well as an aid in accident reconstruction.
And while the FMCSA has developed a proposed EOBR rule, only carriers with a high accident rate or a history of non-compliance would be required to install them, and only for a two-year period. The result, NTSB contends, is that the rule as proposed would effect only 930 of the 700,000 registered carriers."

IMHO there seems to be an awful lot of hoopla, crabbing, fighting, guessing, moaning, speculation, worrying basically about NUTHIN!
For crying out loud do your job legally and correctly and you won't be having any such problems down the road. Relax, do it right the first time and quit trying to build a bridge to cross where there's nothing to go over.112racing, montana cowboy and big wheels Thank this. -
I want to know,....
Whats is:
(1) A sleeper birth defect
(2) What is a "read mirror".
(3) What is a steering violation. I take it that it is something other than tires since tires and listed separately -
I'm curious, how many carriers are there that has over 100 trucks other than the big 5

What I find funny is the other day there was a report that the government wanted to put listening devices in the ####pits of commercial airliners due to the fact of recent mishaps, and then the union came back and said HELL NO!!
So, other than the union, and the power to strike at any time, they swing some weight. What does the trucking industry have to say HELL NO????
Nothing? That's pretty sad -
Just look at the number that are in the company DAC list here, those all have well over 100 trucks. -
I just went and played with it.
There are right around 300 company's with 1000+ motor units.
Around 4200 company's with 100+ motor units.
The term "Motor unit" is important. Many of the company's here are not trucking company's, these are all company's with DOT numbers. These are what makes up the 740 thousand company's that the DOT talks about.
Think of it this way, one of the largest is First Student, the bus company. It is larger than any trucking company. Also included are many sand and gravel, concrete, asphalt and other more local company's. They all have interstate authority though.
Actually most of the 300 company's with 1000+ units were trucking company's.
I hope this helps. -
Maybe this will help the picture lol. If it will paste.
I really did not want the links to the safestat scores but do not know how to remove.
So if it is a problem can someone please fix them.
I left these in the order of number of power units. Since that was the question. This is towards the high end, though several had more.
This looks better in the grid on site.
But what is here.
DOT number, carrier name, State, City, Operating area, Type of authority, Number of power units, Date of last review.
