After getting this figured out, switch insurance and carriers.

It's common even with cars for you to have to pay to get a vehicle out of impound after it's been recovered. They almost always reimburse you as part of the claim later. Just how it is. Sorry to hear about the whole thing though.

Ask to inspect the truck before paying to get it out. No sense in paying $550 for a trashed rig. Tell the insurer if it's a total loss. They wouldn't pay $550 up front? Now you go after them for full valuation, about $75k.

If you're REALLY hard up for cash, try to get a job with a company ride in the meantime. Mega carriers hire every week, hopefully they won't hold the theft against you.

Unfortunately you can't sue the PD for negligence on not finding the perp. Police departments are stretched too thin financially and can only go after REAL crimes (like speeders and skateboarding teens:biggrin_25513:) and don't have time for things like theft investigations. Likewise suing Walmart for theft on the property will only result in more of them refusing to let us park on their property. (liablity dontcha know?:biggrin_25526:)

If you can, you could try to bust out the credit cards or as an o/o try for a small buisness loan.

In the future, try to get catostrophic buisness coverage. That's the kind of thing that covers when a tornado hits a factory or a car crashes into a convienence store. You're a buisness owner too. You need the coverage.

They don't owe you loss of wages . You could have rented a tractor right away .

Not neccesarly? as a friend of mine just went through an ordeal where he lost his truck and lost out on $9300 from not having his truck so his insurance company paid for his loss of wages. They did ask why he didn't rent a truck and he said he didn't have the money to do so right off the bat. After about 3 weeks of not working his main truck he did end up leasing another truck from an individual and got an additional $1500 per week from the insurance company. It can be done..

You should not have left your truck at a walmart especially when under a load. Everyone makes mistakes though,I have made plenty in my time. You definitely need to get your truck back and get rolling to make some money again. You should be able to cut deal witn insurance company.

Im a Container Guy in Florida and container theft is an epidemic. What i did is that i got my truck a kill switch! My other question, that walmart has camaras, 18 trucks stolen and what does the camara shows? walmart is known to have multiple camaras so a lic. plate, a car description should be visible? Lots of questions unanswered?

Another reason why trucks should not be parking at WalMarts..... and I'm sure the one in St. Cloud will now enforce that as a policy.

    Jumbo Thanks this.
