I stopped eating buffets at truck stops many years ago for that same reason. We do go to the Golden Corral in Texarkana every now and then but I won't get anything that can be picked up with fingers, like fried chicken. Mostly go there when family is in town as the big dinners are just too hard cooking for us older folks anymore.
Why are all of the buffet's being taken out?

I have a knife, a fork, and a spoon, one hard plastic plate, a very large bowl, one plastic cutting board. It’s easy to clean up after use. I use resealable plastic containers for the food, which stay in the fridge after I use them so that they don’t get funky before I go home. I use disposable aluminum pie pans and aluminum foil to heat stuff up.

It’s seriously easy.NavigatorWife, peterd, 70s Trucking and 1 other person Thank this.

Whenever I cook(which has been the norm lately due to corona) I always make use of the sinks inside the bathrooms at truck stops and rest areas.

I'm not ashamed or afraid to say that either.NavigatorWife and nikmirbre Thank this.

So you're saying it has nothing to do with disease transfer like all the managers were saying.

Never could understand the draw of Golden Corral, the quality of food there was awful, just awful. The fact that one can eat as much of it as they want didn't change the fact it was truly awful quality.

I wish there were more places that just served a meat and two or three veggies for a decent price, kind of like Morrison's used to be. NavigatorWife Thanks this.
