I'll give that to you, did you guys have that Cosmo beauty supply? That was a horrible one. Also all the hair care and beauty supply places geared towards a specific race generally owned by two other specific races were horrible, most COD and never had the check ready. Mostly around Cleveland, Toledo & Akron Ohio
Why are city drivers always grouchy?

Yeah, we have that ugliness.
My Cosmo store shares a building with the busiest Harbor Freight store I've ever seen. Sometimes I can do it, sometimes not. It all depends on how people park in the lot. -
When I worked for pepsi they went from hourly to base pay + commission so I hustled. Even if you were a slacker it was still hard work. This is for small format (side loader) but the transport guys definitely milked the clock.bzinger Thanks this.

This. I went to deliver a pallet of 48 Dell computers to a public school in CT last week. I looked on the freight bill and saw "Driver Collect $217.xx",
I'm thinking to myself... "At least $35k worth of computers and some dildo decided that they needed to get a check from the school system for freight charges".Crude Truckin', 13 Speed Road Ranger, Cardfan89 and 4 others Thank this. -
I always thought it was because they drank PBR. LOL
Crude Truckin', AModelCat and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
My most grumpy is when OTR drivers act like they own the warehouse. If I tell you you are backing in the wrong door, it's not to be a prick. It could be because I'm at the warehouse all the time and I know which doors are incoming and which are outgoing, and all the outgoing is provided by one carrier that you are not.
Also, if I tell you to park the truck in a specific spot, it's not to be controlling, it's because I know that's where you aren't in the way of other trucks going to the dock. -
Bingo! When I had my union bread job, my 1st and only union job, I couldn't BELIEVE these guys. I did like you, I wanted to get home asap, so I'd burn through my stops. One day, the steward comes up to me, and says, "ahem, ( looks me in the eye) I see you are coming in on your runs an hour earlier than anyone else that does those runs",,I said, "yeah, so"? I thought he was kidding, but he was serious, he said, "are you taking your scheduled breaks"? I said, ", you run to Indiana, drop and hook,,what do you need a break for,"? He said,"well, we fought pretty hard for those breaks in the strike of '96, you just take those breaks". I didn't, and was truly the "black sheep" of the fleet. Of course, the management loved me, but I never saw such a bunch of whining crybabies in my entire trucking career. One night, on the Ill. tollway, I was doing my "governed" 58 mph, and I came up on another one of our trucks, I swear, that schmuck was going 40 mph, I almost ran into him. I grabbed the radio, and asked if he was okay, nothing came back. I too, quit shortly after, and I heard later, all those union crybabies were replaced by outside carriers.Crude Truckin', nredfor88, Gearjammin' Penguin and 7 others Thank this.
